On late evening drive in the foothills of Mt. Hood, we stumbled upon this inviting resort around a bend in the road. Cozy room, well-appointed and very clean - entry protected by enclosed walkway that must be very useful during cold weather. Welcoming, fully-stocked bar with quite competent bartender. Continental breakfast somewhat sparse, but adequate. Staff was very pleasant. We will return.

You couldn't ask for a better wedding location!!
Friendly service, wonderful food and majestic views.
We stayed in a condo which is roomy. The only negative is the need for better lighting, esp. in te bedrooms.

Rooms and cabins are comfortable and the setting is, as advertised, in the woods. I can't add much to the very positive comments already shared by other travelers. If you need to be near town and trinket shopping this isn't your place. I would add that the menue offered for dinner is outstanding. The quality of the food is such that if you aren't staying here you might want to make dinner reservations. There were eight people at our table and we ordered 5 different meals. Everyone was pleased. Steelhead is among my favorite and it was done to perfection.

Yes – we are in the woods!! The closest “town” if you would call it that, is the small community of Parkdale. It does have several grocery stores, a gas station and a multitude of restaurants and its own brew pub, but if you are looking for tourist/trinket shops, you will have to travel about 23 miles North to Hood River, where they abound. I have to concur, that our menu and our dining options are outstanding and the quality of food is pretty spectacular for where we are located and I personally love our steelhead. Thanks again ~

This was a neat experience. The woodsy exterior was carried inside to the rooms. We stayed in a lodge room (Room 12) on the bottom floor. We had horrible neighbor noise the first night of our stay. There were out-of-control kids next door who kept us awake. The second night was much better--quiet and serene, just the experience we were seeking. The restaurant attached to the hotel is very good. You can walk a one-mile bike trail right on the grounds. Overall, this was a good experience other than the noisy neighbors!

Room tip: Ask the front desk for an upstairs room away from young children

Thank you guys for staying here with us and enjoying our little place in the woods. Since our hotel was built so long ago, the upstairs noise sometimes carries downstairs, which is unfortunate. We literally have recreational opportunities right out the back door – mtn. biking trails as well as hiking trails right behind the restaurant. Thanks for staying with us and hope you guys have safe travels and come back and see us again soon!

Cooper Spur Mountain Resort sits on the east side of the stunning peak of Mount Hood, and provides both hotel-style accommodation and individual cabins. I initially booked in for two nights in one of the hotel rooms, to do some photography on my way through: I'd travelled from Spokane, WA and was quite tired. The room itself was really comfortable and well-appointed. Unfortunately, I had some noisy guests in the next room to me, who kept me awake most of the night. I'm sure this is a rare occurrence in a location like this, and I was just unlucky.

The really important thing is the way it was dealt with by the management. When I informed them of the problem the next morning, they not only gave me a large discount on my room, but they also offered to move me to the largest cabin on the site for my second night, as it happened to be vacant. This cabin was huge! It would probably accommodate two small families at the same time, and was extremely nicely-designed, with both aircon and a propane fire, and a gloriously efficient and hot shower, all of which helped me to recover from my lost sleep.

Full marks for customer service from this happy camper!
