Description: Rogue Ales Public House, originally named the Bayfront Brewery, was the first place Brewmaster John Maier brewed Rogue. Eventually, the brewery moved across the bay but the 35 taps at the pub still pour Rogue brews and a full menu is available. Rogue Nation citizens wearing tiki shirts on Tuesdays get $3 pints.

Stopped on the recommendation of locals. Good beer on draft, good seafood chowder and excellent Halibut fish and chips. All well priced. Service wasn't the best.....not crowded yet for the lunch crowd but slow to come by the table when seated and bring our drink order. He also had an attitude...seemed bored. Maybe because we're seniors and shared the meal? If so.....that' just not right! Glad we stopped and would do so again if in the area.

Whenever I visit Newport, I always stop by Rogue to get my honey Kolsch and fried cheese curds fix! I've been coming here for nearly 20 years, and the place never disappoints!

Stopped by this pub for a break in the strenuous work of strolling Newport's waterfront, watching and listening to the sea lions, and shopping. They have numerous beers on tap, and we enjoyed beer, cider, and two appetizers - soft pretzels and fried cheese curds. The beer and cider were as good as expected - I especially enjoy their Shakespeare stout. The appetizers each came with three unique, house-made dipping sauces. Their red buffalo sauce is very tasty, has just the right amount of zip, and should be bottled and sold on site. It was fun watching the sidewalk strollers through our table-side window.

The beers were outstanding, much more of a choice here than back on the east coast. The food hit the spot, we had the mussels and the grilled cheese.

This location for Rogue has a restaurant section and a bar section. We were in the front restaurant section and all had burgers. They really were very good, almost a diner-style burger. Note that the menu is typical bar/pub food. Don't come here if you are looking for something on the more healthy, less fried side.

The beer menu was pretty much the whole Rogue catalog, which was good for me. Although note that the restaurant isn't allowed to take part in the happy hour menu. That is restricted to the bar area for some reason.

Lastly, the kids meals were served on Rogue-branded frisbees that you get to keep. The kids were stoked about this and we brought them home from our trip.
