We were greeted by a friendly host and made comfortable. The food was prepared beautifully and served hot and fresh. The flavors were perfectly blended and the sauces were unique and wonderful. My husband's seafood was fresh and very tasty. My chicken dish had just the right amount of spice and the meat was melt in your mouth tender. All of the veggies were fresh and crisp. We were more than satisfied and agreed that this was the best Thai we'd had recently.

Not sure what it was exactly but this was definitely not one of our favorite places. No heat to the food at all, not even spicy. Had an appetizer, pad thai , chow mien and thai ice tea.
Nothing memorial to bring us back

We would pass this Thai eatery over the years, thinking it wasn't anything special. But, boy, were we wrong!! It was never the most attractive building, architecture-wise, but we decided to eat here recently and was blown away by how tasty and fresh the food is. We ordered three dishes, Panang chicken w/curry, Spicy basil fried rice and Pad Kee Mow with chicken. Spice level was extra hot for the curry and the latter two dishes were medium. At most other Thai places we've visited, I can order a dish medium hot and it'll be fine but, here at Lucky Thai Elephant, medium was definitely on the hotter side. It wasn't so hot that all you could taste was hot peppers, but you could still taste the cooking spices and flavor. I knew that next time, I'll leave the spice level alone and the dish would be perfect. As for the panang curry, my husband is used to spicy food and he thought his was very spicy but still very good. Everything was fresh and the vegetables weren't overcooked at all. Can't wait to come back next time!

The building and atmosphere ain't much but the food is good and the price is right. We eat here at least one or two nights every time we come to Newport.

Staff very nice. Food is okay. Great place to enjoy a meal with a group of people. Don't expect anything spectacular in the menu, but the variety is nice. Have been several times. I believe it is family owned.
