We originally booked a 1-month stay here for Oct/Nov 2016. We only stayed for a week and then asked the company to move us to a different property. The pictures totally belie what is really lurking in this house. Upon entering, there is a musty, moldy smell in the house. There are multiple water stains everywhere on the ceilings and paneling, so it's obvious that there has been leaking, so that's probably where the smells come from. The main floor bath is the worst. The pictures don't show the moldy, peeling grout, or the rotten hardwood floor where there has been a persistent, ignored leak. There is also a strong urine smell in the adjacent bedroom, so there must be a leak in the waste plumbing that is wicking into the wood floors. It was repulsive. Staying in the upstairs bedroom is no better-- the shutters are broken and you can't block out the light and sleep past dawn. The room with the bunks has old water stains on the floor and up the shared bathroom wall, so there is long-term damage there and the musty smell is very strong in that room. I didn't want my child sleeping in there. The bedding is old and tired, pillows stained and flat. The wicker furniture in the living room is extremely uncomfortable and covered in stains, as are the rugs. The wood floors in the entry and kitchen were so filthy that mopping them 3 times when we arrived didn't remove all the grime. I really can't say enough about how poor the condition of this home is and how unpleasant it was to stay there. I could go on with 10 more things, but I don't want to continue to relive that week. I felt ill staying there and nearly cried with happiness to leave. The owners of this home need to do some renovations and take care of their property if they should continue to rent it to other people. It's unconscionable to charge what they do for this home and to let it molder as it is. Maybe people come through here for a weekend and all they care about is being out at the beach and having a place to crash, so they don't notice these things as much, but for our long-term stay and our standards, this house wasn't at all what we were looking for.
On the upside, the maintenance staff and the Vacasa management folks were very accommodating and facilitated a move to a new property for us with little trouble at all, so we very much appreciated that.
