We ate here yesterday for dinner and had one of the combination dinners. We have eaten here in the past, over a year ago.

Both visits we had a good server who is attentive and friendly. Both visits the vegetables were fresh and well prepared in the subgum, the fried stuff was pretty typical of battered and fried chicken and shrimp. For a small town Chinese restaurant, this place is consistently decent, fresh food, good service.

I love Chinese food and am always willing to try a new place, especially in some out of the way location like Baker City. The manager at our hotel recommend this place to us, saying he'd eaten there and thought it was really good. So, we headed over to try it.
It's unusual, like the owner wasn't sure if he wanted to have a sports bar with a big tv on the wall, or a restaurant.
The young man who waited on us seemed half asleep, but took good care of us and even steered us away from a couple of dishes. That said, the food, at best, was ordinary. Understand, we had just come from Seattle and had enjoyed a great Chinese meal there and this place suffered greatly in comparison.
We didn't have any side dishes, just main courses, which were okay, but nothing that would make you want to come back again. I guess we were hoping for a hidden gem but ended up with second rate cuisine.
Can't really recommend this place...it's weirdly interesting, but the food is not great.

We ordered the combinations. I ordered the Szechuan chicken with fried rice, spring roll and hot and sour soup. Believe the other diners when they say the hot and sour soup is not good. the spring roll was fried, and just filled with cabbage, and practically empty. the chicken was great, with plenty of fresh vegetables, but canned mushrooms. the fried rice was excellent.
My wife ordered the Pong pong chicken. It was ok. she got the crab puffs. there was no crab, just cream cheese. she did not like her hot and sour soup.
I don't think I would go again.
