“a great Route 66 stop for food”

You wont find this place on your GPS but don't let that stop you from taking exit 1 in Oklahoma at the ghost town of Texola. The restaurant sits along Route 66 with an RV park behind it and both are worth the stop. We had ribs, sliced beef and pulled beef that were fall of the bone tender and the prices were surprising low for being in the middle of nowhere. The place was clean and owner/server was friendly and attentive. Don't let the outside keep you from stopping, you wont be disappointed!

Pretty expensive food was good had a cheese burger. They charge you two dollars and hand you a can of pop and a glass of ice.

We were in Texola looking at the ghost town and wanted something to eat. The other restaurant in town was closed so we stopped at the Windmill on the way back to the Interstate.
The car park is unpaved and dusty and the restaurant doesn't look much from the outside, but DO NOT let that put you off.
The smell of the Mesquite wood for the BBQ and the interesting artefacts lining the walls make for a great dining experience.
My wife had a burger which was moist and delicious. I had the chilli bowl which was just right, not too spicy and not too bland all for a price much less than you would pay for a couple of mass produced lunches at a fast food stop.
The lady behind the counter was welcoming and the food arrived quickly and was piping hot. A great little place. Go there if you are in the area.

Crazy good BBQ. Last June I hit this place during a bike trip. Faded, scratched up sign. Dusty parking lot. Will look for it next time around!

Loved the sliced beef. My husband loved the Hamburger Steak with grilled onions and gravy. We just happened to be traveling through looking for a place to park the RV. Excellent find.
