We have been to France several times and with a young family decided to opt for a holiday rental instead of camping. The house itself is spacious with lovely sized bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. They also provided a cot for our baby which was great. The living area downstairs is really big. The kitchen has all the amenities you could need and there is a large dining table and sofas. Because of the fantastic weather however most nights we were able to eat outside in our own private area and the garden is just fantastic, our kids had a great time exploring and running around all the open space. Its a very quiet and peaceful hamlet with and the bread van still delivers fresh bread every morning right outside the house which fab!
The hosts were on hand for anything we needed and were very well informed about the local area and best beaches to visit - they also had good recommendations for lakes to go boating on and picnics which our kids loved.
We are already planning our next trip back there. Thoroughly enjoyed it!!!
We arrived in the evening to a very warm welcome from the owners Bob and Rose who live in a separate self contained part of the old farm house. Over the course of our week there, they gave us plenty of recommendations for places to visit including markets, restaurants, walks and interesting towns. Our hosts were very friendly and sociable.
The accommodation was very comfortable and spacious. We slept the main bedroom which had a small ensuite shower room. There were 2 other bedrooms, a recently installed modern bathroom and a very large sitting, dining and cooking area, all of which were well equipped. Outside is a very large garden, with views over the surrounding countryside, which we enjoyed every day for relaxing, eating and cooking on the barbecue.
By the end of our stay we realised what a lovely part of France this is and look forward to going back to Chez Joan to experience more of the area.
