It is very near to UGM and is on a street with great food! During my stay i would walk out and just walk along the road looking for food. the restaurant opposite the road with chicken is good! the service was good and the staff were exceptionally polite and went out of their way to help. However, the lighting in the room is not that good.it was rather dark.wifi and the tv channels were quite good though! if u need a taxi,u can just inform the front desk and they will get one for u.

I have visited Yogyakarta quite often and always have enjoyable stays. But in most holidays or long weekend, finding hotel in Yogyakarta is not easy, especially when you are looking for a budget hotel as occupancy rate is 100%!
One long weekend I tried my luck in Cakra Kembang as they fortunately still have one room left.
The room is in the third floor and there is no elevator so I need to exercise a little bit... not bad!
I was happy when reached my room which is quite spacious and looked clean.
DIssapointment came when I took a bath quite late, as there's only few drops of water came out from the shower. Finally I finished cleaning my body using the toilet water spray!!
The used water made a swamp in the bathtub as it was not running well to the drain.
So I called the housekeeping... it was almost midnite but I cannot stand the bathroom condition.
The technician came immediately and tried to fix it. The shower can drop more water now but he can do nothing about bathtub drain. It is always like that he said, water runs very sloooooowly out to the drain.
So I shrugged my shoulder and let him go.
Breakfast menu finally can make my stay the next day was much better.

Room tip: Make reservation 1 to 2 months prior your stay, especially on school holiday or long weekend. Yogyakarta is always liked by domestic and international traveller. In Cakra Kembang, please asked rooms in first floor and with bathroom condition!

Good service, clean rooms, lots of amenities around.
They gave us a very early check-in and extra breakfast coupon, which was a very nice move. The room was clean and spacious but rather dark and with no character. The bathroom needed renovation and cleaning, the sink was leaking and the second light was not working. Towels are very old (and only body towels were provided). The beds are comfortable and the sheets impecable. The internet connection is free but unreliable. No anti-mosquito provisions provided (and not many power outlets in the room). Breakfast is indonesian only (not a bad thing in itself) plus toast & jam--overall not impressive. The hotel is very close to the ugm campus so it's a good choice if you have business there.

The hotel is near UGM campus, with plenty of food vendor and supermarket nearby. Malioboro can be reach in 15-20 minutes without traffic. Though it is situated on a busy street, the hotel building is in the back, so you can't hear all the noise. I call ahead and turned out the published rate is slightly higher than on the website (the staff said because it was holiday season) but I bargained then got lower rate.

My room was on the 3rd floor and there's no elevator so it was quite a flight. The room itself was not as spacious as the pic on the website, but it wasn't small either. Breakfast was OK, not much selection but tasted good.

Room tip: ask for room in the new/renovated building. no elevator so prepare to take the stairs
