The hotel room was clean, but when we got there housekeeping was in the room on the phone, which was odd. The heater would not regulate, it was either super hot or cold. There was no food available but some close by if you do not mind to drive a little. We were disappointed that they would not allow us a late check out, but gave no reason.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for your comments regarding your experience with us. Many of our housekeepers use their phones to contact the laundry department to inform them that extra linens are needed on a certain floor. We a have tried walkie talkies but sometimes they will work and most times they were garbled. There is a phone in the laundry area but with the machines and the presser all running it is difficult to hear. We checked the log book and did not see where you indicated an issue with your HVAC unit in your guest room. Maintenance checked the unit and had found that the settings were not properly set on this unit and for this I sincerely apologize. This issue could have been rectified in less than five minutes. We have nine eating establishments all within walking distance from the hotel ranging from sit down to fast food. The hotel itself does not have a restaurant on property as we are an Express & Suites hotel. We do provide an expansive hot breakfast which is complimentary to all guest at this is served daily.

I sincerely apologize that we were not able to provide you with an extended check out during your visit. The hotel provides late check outs when available. We are attached to a 60,000 sq. ft. convention center that has many events scheduled and the hotel needs to be able to turn the rooms in a timely manner so rooms are ready by check in.

We know that you have a choice when making lodging accommodation and it is our hope that you will continue to choose one of the many IHG properties in the future for your next stay.

We stayed here on a Friday night and Saturday night because we had a function to attend in LaMalfa Center and didn't want to drive home. If you are looking for an adequate place to rest while visiting the area, this will work. We asked for a late checkout on Sunday and we were told we were not able to be accomodated. No further explanation was offered on a very slow business day. We probably will not stay here again unless it was just for the night of the event. The fitness center consisted of a treadmill, an elliptical machine, and a stationary bike. Don't stay here if you are in the middle of a weight lifting program unless you are on a rest day. The room was adequate and warm. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The heater ran nonstop so that was a little frustrating. We checked in and housekeeping was still in our room talking on their phone. The room appeared to be clean.
Breakfast is offered in the morning and was tasty. Saturday morning was scrambled eggs and Sunday morning was a cheese omlette. Pancakes and sausage gravy and biscuits appeared to be staple offerings and was satisfactory both mornings. They also offer warm pastries as well as cold cereals. There are chain restaurants in the area for lunch or dinner options.

Dear Guest,

We greatly appreciate your detailed description of your stay with us and thank you for sharing your comments with our readers. I sincerely apologize that this particular day the hotel was not able to accommodate a late checkout as you requested. Sunday is anything but slow in the hotel industry and if you are in the center of a business hub, Sunday's can be one of your busiest days. We had two large seminar groups checking in and like you, wanted to arrive early and check out late. Because of the venues we host at the conference center, it is imperative to turn our rooms efficiently and expedient as possible. Housekeeping begins at 9:00 AM and check out is at
11:00 AM The housekeeping staff needs to have 45% of the rooms cleaned by 1:00 PM, this is the earliest we begin checking guest in.
When available the hotel has no issues agreeing to a modified late check out. We do limit the number of late checkouts on heavy check in days because most of the travelers coming are arriving by plane and we want to be able to have those guestrooms available so our guest are not sitting in the lobby area.
Our breakfast is the standard that is provided by IHG. The variety that IHG provides can please a great deal of our guests. Egg omelets, scrambled eggs, egg white frittats, sausage gravy, biscuits, pancakes, bacon, sausage, turkey sausage, cinnamon rolls, hot/cold cereals, whole grain breads, bagels, English muffins and assorted pastries, hard boiled eggs, yogurt and fresh fruit.
are all apart of the complimentary breakfast you receive at Holiday Inn Expresses.
Our fitness center can provide a nominal work out. Any guest that requires a more extensive workout is welcome to use the offsite gym we have an association with.
It is unfortunate that because you could not obtain a late check out you chose to label our hotel as adequate. We are anything but adequate and the overwhelming reviews we receive prove the difference.
We know that you have a choice when making lodging accommodations and hope that you will choose one of the many IHG brands for your next stay.

My husband and I and two children stayed here last weekend. We were very pleased with the staff. It was clean, and spacious. The breakfast was very good and the people working it were delightful. We also stopped by for the happy hour. Maria was bartenders that evening, she was so enjoyable to talk to. The free horderves were delicious . We intended to dine out that evening and ended up not even going, we we so full and enjoyed our time there longer than we anticipated.
We enjoyed the pool with the kids, it is bigger than most hotels.

We stayed at this hotel as out of town guests for our niece's wedding. The hotel was very clean and the the hotel staff was outstanding. Lisa, who helped us in the breakfast room, was fantastic. They have a very nice pool and the location is walkable to a very good pizza restaurant.

Room Tip: You can ask for an upgrade and get a slightly larger room for a little more money

We stayed for 4 nights as the parents of the groom and were treated better than we've ever been treated at any hotel. Deb, the manager, Mike, the owner, and Dan, our bartender, treated each other like family and they extended the same warmth to us as their guests. Mike was a very hands-on owner and wasn't below collecting trash or making basic repairs, It was obvious that he takes great price as an owner/operator of the hotel and is not above doing anything that needs to be done. When Mike and Deb discovered we were the parents of the groom they upgraded us to the penthouse suite when they discovered that we'd be entertaining many guests. Even so, they but didn't charge us an increased rate. A few of our guests had issues, through no fault of the hotel's, and Deb did everything she could to help them or correct the situation. Our son, the groom, had reserved a standard room for their wedding night and when Deb found out he was the groom she upgraded him to a very large bridal suite at about 1/2 the regular rate.
LaMalfa was or reception venue and an excellence operation. The ballroom was extremely large, included crystal chandeliers, and contained a very large parkay dance floor. The steak/chicken combination was delicious! Service during the reception was very good.
The breakfast was very good and 3 retired ladies who worked there were quite friendly. The pool was very large and clean. The exercise room contained an elliptical, stationary bike, and a treadmill. There was an available laundry adjacent to workout facility.

Room Tip: Make sure you request the second or third floor if you get cold easily. . The higher you go in the hotel the higher the temperature.

Dear Guest,

Thank you so much for sharing your detailed experience with our readers. We are absolutely delighted that we could make your stay a memorable one for your son's wedding. Our staff is more like family than coworkers and employees. We all work together to create an experience that will keep you coming back or at the very least choose one of the many IHG properties in our brand when traveling.
Our breakfast team is awesome, they make you feel like you are in grandma's kitchen. We are blessed to have them as part of our family.
Danny is one of LaMalfa Center's greatest asset, he makes every wedding and venue a positive and fun event, always upbeat, smiling and full of energy!
Michael, our owner, is a very hands on owner, he landscapes and helps out through the day where ever needed, and has been known to chef in the kitchen as well.(I don't think he sleeps) he is always moving.
We are glad that our staff went above and beyond making you and your guest feel comfortable and welcomed. It is our hope that you will continue to choose one of the many IHG brands when making your lodging accommodations for your next travels.
