“Constantly changing with the seasons.”

Jackson Bog State Nature Preserve
Reviewed 11 July 2016

This is a great area if you enjoy the outdoors. Bring your bug spray and a water bottle because you will need it. You should be somewhat fit because there are some hills to get back to the bog. There are signs showing the way, but they are designed to blend in with the environment so you do need to pay attention. There are signs along the trail explaining the different areas of the bog, but people have to understand that some plants that are mentioned may not be blooming during the season they visit. Yes, there are trails with artificial decking, but if there weren't you'd be knee-deep in the bog or only able to walk on the fringes.

Very nice, tranquil place to take a hike. Make sure you go all the way into the woods and take the boarded trail, it's very pretty!

Great spot to enjoy the outdoors. There is a small playground with swings, slides, and climbing areas. The hiking path to the bog is well maintained and beautiful in all seasons. We've done daytime trips as well as night hikes here with our children (under 6).

Our plans for a casual Saturday morning hike were foiled by this trail being very poorly marked & infested by mosquitoes. Trails intersected at several points without any signage. The bugs made it down right unpleasant. Some areas were very pretty but this accounted for 25% or less of trail. I also don't come to nature to walk on artificial decking. Lots of better trails in Northeast Ohio!

It was very pretty but very easy to get lost signs really weren't very good. The walk was very informative with all the little signs saw some cool wildlife and all but still needs better signs so people don't get lost especially with a three year old
