On the Pula Reserve Walking Trail, come face-to-face with amazing gorillas, a pride of lions, see monkeys and cheetahs at play and feel the sand between your toes at the new Hippo Beach! Included in your admission price is a 40 minute safari tour where you will find rhinoceros, giraffes, zebras and antelopes grazing together on the picturesque savannah. Don't miss: Wild Encounters: Feed a giraffe, stroke a serval, see amazing animals on the savannah from an open vehicle and, in the new Gorilla Behind the Scenes encounter, get up close and personal with three gorilla bachelors! Slumber Safari: Stay overnight in our luxury safari tents overlooking the savannah. Your stay includes amazing close-up animal encounters, drinks and dips at sunset, and a sumptuous African feast.

Loved our visit. The open range sarfari was excellent- up close and personal with the animals. If you are planning on doing a extra cost tour book at least two weeks in advance as apparently they book out quickly which was not told to us until we arrived. These can be booked online but really you don’t need the fancy tours as your day will still be amazing. Only criticism by our group is that the animal talks could be more informative about the animals in their natural environment and what the risks are to them there. The talks told you about how the animals came to the zoo but we would of liked more info on the animals in the wild. Our second visit with our first one 12 years ago and once again it did not disappoint

I couldn’t fault this amazing place in any way. From the moment we arrived the girl on the ticket booth was friendly and inviting. The grounds are beautifully maintained and everything is clean and well laid out.
The animals are in amazing natural environments and the fact of saving our endangered species is very important here.
The Safari tour which you get to see the larger Savannah animals was very informative and the kids loved it.
The lion exhibit was a big hit with the 4 cubs wrestling and playing. Could have watched them for hours.
The Werribee river running through the park makes it truly beautiful.
The fact that kids up to 16 are free entry on weekends and school holidays is also a big bonus if looking for a full day out.
We went in school holidays and arrived about 10am and walked around with no crowds all day which was amazing.
They also have for additional charge up close experiences and a slumber Safari where you can stay overnight and have the experience of seeing and hearing the animals at night. My daughter is really keen but it is quite pricey but I’m sure worth every sent- save the dollars maybe- haha!

Great zoo. Worth the visit. The tour is the best part. It does not matter what side you sit on as the animals move around. It is not far out of Melbourne so worth it to take the kids. It is open so can be cold if the breeze gets up.

We did the off road Safari and it was terrific. Our guide was very informative and happy for us to ask lots of random questions.
You are able to get very close to the animals for photos and some of them even came up to the bus.

It’s years since I had last been to Werribee zoo. It was an absolute pleasure to visit. Great playgrounds for the kids, the new long safari buses and ingeniously designed and we had a blast listening to the driver explaining the animals and all the names of the giraffes. I’d forgotten how bit it was. Now the kids are 5&6 they also had the energy to run around the walking circuits too which was great.
