Best Honeymoon

Thankyou bentmore cottage. We arrived at the cottage by open arms of the owners who showed us around their beautiful property before showing us the place we were staying for 2 nights. There was a beautiful fireplace with ample wood and when we ran out the owners were quick to give us more for another night. We were provided tawny and home grown bacon and eggs which was a beautiful treat and extremely tasty. We were there for our honeymoon which was a wonderful experience and it was like home away from home. If you’re looking for a gorgeous stay away from the city, close to beautiful winery’s and outstanding walks in Tasmania’s national forests in a 1800’s style home this is it. You will never forget your stay and you’ll be well cared for by the magnificent hosts.

We are deeply touched by your kind gestures of tawny and also providing breakfast. We will never forget both of your kind hearts and will definitely stay again.

Amazing quirky accommodation. We chose the Gypsy Rose. Very comfortable and pleasantly located beside the Wye River. We only met Maureen on arrival, who was very welcoming and made us feel right at home. Breakfast is not included, so we self-catered for breakfast and dinner. There is a microwave, kettle, toaster, fridge and crockery and cutlery. There is also a camp kitchen next door for those that need to cook bigger meals.

A few km north of Swansea (and therefore a bit closer to the treasures of Bicheno, and FreycinetPpeninsula), the unique Homestead is an ideal spot to explore north and south, including Maria Island (from Triabunna). Hosts Maureen and John do an exceptional job, in making all their guests feel very welcome and special.

We had the homestead family unit, which is fully set up with a good kitchen and plenty of room, which can easily cater for a family. So for 2 codgers, it was very spacious.
The gardens and surrounds are very interesting, as are the friendly goats, and chooks,
We really enjoyed our 2 day stay, and would recommend this interesting little option :-)

Room tip: Just enjoy it!!

A gorgeous historic Homestead. We stayed in the Gypsy Truck which directly overlooks the River Wye and is a fabulous location. Very peaceful and relaxing with the water running by.
Maureen was so welcoming and gave us a tour of the property which she is quite rightly very proud of and introduced us to Vincent Van Goat and his brother Manny. There are lots of lovely wineries nearby as well as Freycinet Peninsula and Lake Leake.
Can’t wait to come back.

We stayed here for 3 nights and it was the perfect place to relax and unwind. Only a 10 minute drive to Swansea and Kates Berry Farm which is a must.

Our accommodation was in the Belmont Wing which is fully self contained and has plenty of room for a family. We were greeted by Maureen upon arrival who showed us around the room and took Master 5 down to the chickens to collect some eggs whilst we unpacked the car.

The gardens on the property are beautiful and it is starting to bloom now that it is Spring. The history of the Belmont is also very interesting.

We stayed in the Belmont Wing which is attached to the homestead. We really enjoyed our short stay there. We had a walk around the farm & gardens, loved animals and surroundings of the farm. The hosts were so sweet. And the location and place it self was nicely decorated and spotless 😊
