Nice Stay.

My wife and I stayed in the Sir John cottage for two nights in May whilst travelling along the west coast of Tasmania.

Upon arrival, the owners who live next door welcomed us and explained how everything worked. The property was clean, tidy and quite spacious. There was a separate large bedroom and a large and adequate ensuite complete with laundry facilities. The kitchen had most amenities, including two small hot plates.

There was a split system and a wood burner (with heaps of wood provided) in the main living area, which both provided great warmth. It was cold, windy and raining during our stay so these luxuries were very welcomed. Be aware there is no wifi provided by the property, which didn’t worry us too much.

Situated directly opposite the IGA supermarket was very convenient and being short walk down the hill to the Main Street, shops and marina was also handy.

There was heaps of information on the local area including what to do, where to go and eat and how to get around provided by the owners which was very helpful.

Recommend and we would stay here again.

We arrived after a long drive from Hobart at 6.30pm to find a place that was in disrepair and filthy. We had booked the church. Dust everywhere, cobwebs and generally a dusty smell. The host begged to differ. Host was extremely aggressive. Wife told us to F off. Had to urgently find other accommodation. Worst travel experience and very upsetting. Strange and stressful experience. When you googling the church it shows old photos.

Room tip: Do not stay here

We stayed at the Police Superintendants Residence. It was perfect! Opposite the IGA and up the hill from the town center. Kerry and Kellie were gracious hosts. And, there are rabbits to say hello to in the back yard.

Make time to see ‘the ship that never was’ at the Visitors Center, Best play!

We booked this location based on our client requesting some specifics that this location offered. Positive approach and fantastic hosts our client had the best time ever. The cottage open fire warm inviting all we needed and asked for really and created a successful couple of days . Mountain Support Services we support and will continue to utilise this organisation . Also interesting to note the owners are also the owners of the local whisky bar and certainly setting a new level of interesting business options .

We booked for 2 nights but unfortunately had to race home as my mum went to ICU, Kerry was very kind to us, as we had past cancellation time. The Church was cozy and quirky, so close to center of town to walk for dinner, pub etc or for shopping iga.
Pet friendly our dog loved looking at the people walking past and shop across road. Would love to go back and stay that extra night soon.
My only disappointment, my husband and I like flat pillows and there were only 2 they were both super high.

We stayed in Sir John Cottage for just the one night, but we really liked it. It was very nicely decorated, especially the bedroom, which has a cute bay window seat, and the kitchen had been very cleverly set out. The owners were super friendly, a lightbulb blew and messed up the power box, and when I rang they came around immediately to sort it out, and welcomed us. We were staying as part of our honeymoon and they left a gorgeous card and bottle of wine for us. If we had stayed a bit longer we definitely would have made use of the fire, because Stanley gets very cold!
