Yes,I agree with many of the negative reveiws re the Hilltop rooms with a veiw of the carpark.Dont go there or ask for room with veiw.WHERE oh WHERE did they get that hideous peach coloured paint from ????Was it on special ? Must have been.Bedding old and tatty.Smelt of a thousand guests. The family were very unhappy, here.Fish Cafe-$24 for fish and chips???Is that the normal price in a fishing town.....Will never go back.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a veiw of the water and if you are a group or family, don,y let them shove you to the carpark rooms-too depressing for words.

Reception desk while lovely and friendly were very confused about all aspects of our stay including the length of time we were to stay, the number of people and the rate we were to be charged. HOWEVER the location was perfect, very comfortable and ticked every box for a group of mates on holiday.

Room Tip: Try to be in the cottages - I think the townhouses would get a lot of noise from the pub below.

Walls of rooms are paper thin. I was disturbed by neighbours both in the evening and in the morning. I even heard the neighbour's alarm go off, shouting, taps running. Dinner and breakfast prohibitively expensive. And didn't appreciate the unexpected sting in the tail - a 1.5% credit card surcharge on my bill. They will direct you to a number of their recommended restaurants . . . Not much in Strahan. Best give it a miss

My wife and I stayed there on Christmas day. We arrived quite prepared to go back home if there was no accommodation available, but we were pleasantly surprised by the accommodation and the restaurant. We stayed in a cottage on the main street. It is obviously a while since the cottages were last renovated, but they have been kept in good condition and were suitably comfortable. We were happy with what we got for the rate, bearing in mind it is obviously an upmarket resort, it is not budget accommodation, so we did not expect anything cheap and we did not want to stay in the garden rooms up the hill.

We found the restaurant's christmas dinner buffet was excellent and reasonably priced given the location and quality of food. Service was friendly and excellent.

Room Tip: The cottages right on the main street might be noisy if you are there Saturday night. They were fine for us on Christmas day but it might be better to pick one of the cottages set back from the street. We thought the cottages were better value than the cheaper rooms.

Just stayed here. two rooms in Sorrell wing. Rooms were clean, bathroom good. Old small CRT TV was suprising but everything worked.
Walls are paper thin but i'm a deep sleeper so didn't bother me. We were running late to our wilderness railway experience (included in package) but the lady at breakfast went a little nuts and spouted all sorts of nonsense about it being against the law? / rules to take food out - even though she knew we had paid, had not eaten and had no time - all we wanted was a croissant
I later complained as one of our party was diabetic - the front desk went above and beyond to apologise and make up for it. Apart from that one hiccup we found the staff to be warm and welcoming and always had a smile. i would stay here again but would pay more for a nicer room
