A family friendly tavern with views looking across to Strahan. Children’s menu is a bit pricey at $11 for 2 sausages and a handful of chips. Main meals were delicious and very fresh, the staff were very friendly and welcoming. There is a few gaming machines off the lounge, so you can try your luck whilst waiting for your meal. The wilderness train trundles right past around 6pm a good place for people on a budget.

I would drive 4 hours home to eat a meal before i would eat at this pub again.

Service:
While the service was somewhat polite there was no urgency at all. We waited 20 minutes in line before even ordering. It then took about another 10 minutes to take the order, payment and organise drinks.

Food:
We paid 75 dollars for a entre, two main meals and two drinks. The garlic bread was at best, a frozen supermarket loaf that had been put in the microwave. I am certain chips are the frozen McCains crinkle cut chips i have in the freezer at home and were very undercooked, probably also just chucked in the microwave. Speaking of frozen, the chicken parmi was equivalent to the $3 schnitzel available at the supermaket burnt to a crisp for that charcoal flavour topped with some home brand salsa sauce.

If i made this meal at home, it would probably cost me around $12 and i wouldnt have waited almost an hour.

Terrible experience

The food is ordinary pub grub but fresh local produce that is well presented, good sized portions and at reasonable prices. The beer and wine is pub prices and they have a reasonable selection.

We came here for lunch on a whim and were really impressed with the food. All your fave pub dishes are here - cooked well and big serves too.

We were told by a local this was a good place to eat and reviews on this site confirmed this. The cook must have had a bad day. About 4 items off the quite basic menu were not available and only salad available, no cooked veg. Ordered the trevalla with seafood sauce. Good size meal and the salad was good (probably the best part of the meal) fish was luke warm (possibly just thaws as it seemed quite watery) and the crinkle cut chips were just warm, had a good amount of just warm prawns in the tasteless sauce. Very disappointed as Trevalla is a favourite fish of ours. The booze prices are good and the bar staff very friendly and helpful. Tip to restaurants, it's nice to see tablecloths on tables, but they should be ironed.
