If you take the Mole Creek Road from Sheffield to Deloraine you cannot miss this place with its large Tasmanian Devil model at the entrance.
We started with the guide educating us about a wombat which they'd got as a baby when his mother became roadkill.
We then had an incredible introduction to seven young Tasmanian devils whom the guide fed with a large chunk of wallaby which they completely devoured, all the time he was telling us about the animals and how they have got to their present existence in Tasmania. These ones will be part of the breeding program under way to repopulate the species free of the cancer they are suffering in the wild.
After the better part of an hour we were free to wander the premises and inspect the other animals and birds on display. The majority of the 'exhibits' are there because they were brought in injured or as babies of dead parents and are unable to return to the wild.
There is a large group of kangaroos which can be hand fed and there is a pond with various types of water fowl.
You could easily sped several hours there and the cost of entrance is reasonable.
