We did the private tour worth every cent. I got to hold and cuddle a wombat up close with devils and tawny frog mouths and quills. Fantastic experience and Passionate dedicated staff.

They are rehabilitating animals which is great but the place is in need of funds from the look of things, a bit run down. If more people visited it would raise awareness as they are really trying hard to rehabilitate the animals.

This fantastic facility is a great experience to get up-close-and-personal with some of Tasmania's wildlife! Time your visit to coincide with the interpretive guide that will walk you through parts of the park! The young woman was inexperienced, but still very informative and well-spoken. We were shown and told about wombats, eastern quolls and then the star of the show: the Tasmanian Devil. There were 2 young ones when we visited.

The Devil Feeding was the highlight of our visit to Trowunna! 7 adult devils gorged themselves on half of a walloby in a fast-paced, vicious-sounding, exciting feeding frenzy! Words don't do justice to the sounds that we heard: Snarling, Screaming, Whinning, Crying, and the Crunching of bones! The Alpha would often chase other devils away!

The fenced-in pens surrounding the devils could use a little improvement, but overall, the facilities seem adequate for the rehabilitation, research and breeding programs that take place on-site.

Other wildlife that can be seen here include: the previously mentioned wombats and quolls, as well as wallabies and kangaroos.

Our visit went well, but because we turned up in time to see both the feeding of the wombat and of the Tasmanian Devils. If we had visited at any other time we would have been disappointed, as many of the animals are nocturnal and all you would see is apparently empty cages. Check website for feeding times; owner gives an excellent commentary, has enthusiasm and clearly knows his stuff. Does not provide concessionary entrance price for non- Australian pensioners, unlike a lot of other places

Hi Djbcamb,
Thank you so much for your review. We are glad to hear you had a good experience on one of our tours. However, a misunderstanding must have occurred as to concessionary intrance for non-Australian pensioners. We do give consession to non-Australien seniors and pensioners, and we are very sorry that you have not been offered that.
If you get the chance, we do hope you will visit us again another time - and this time with the correct admission fee.
