Average food and a long wait…
We arrived and looked at the menu. Prices are expensive but I had expected to pay a premium for the “remoteness” (although nowhere is far in Tasmania). A large group was present but we were advised that they had all eaten. So we ordered. And then waited. And waited. Checked with the waiter a few times as we noticed orders coming out from people that had ordered after us. Was then told it was due to the large group (who had all clearly long finished their meals). My lamb was fatty, a small portion for the 20+ pricetag and average. The sauce on the plate had obviously been added hours earlier and formed a crust. My daughters burger was ok, but the onion rings she had been looking forward to were scarce. There were two on her plate. When we went to pay - the staff disappeared! Two staff behind the bar muddled about cleaning glasses, while the one at the register put her head down with paperwork. Eventually we were served. Won’t be back. It’s a pity as the location is lovely. The food and service were far below average.More
