The Racecourse Inn is a charming B&B in Longford, Tasmania. The premises are beautifully decorated in period style. Our room was very comfortable, with nice touches like port and sweets. Breakfast is served in the dining room before the wood heater. Breakfasts are large with ingredients from the hotel garden. The Bircher muesli is highly recommended. The owners are friendly and full of good advice on how to make the most of the region.

What a fantastic bed and breakfast. Arrived a bit early and was able to drop our bags and go exploring. Annabelle was very knowledgeable of the local area. We came down to the guest's lounge room to soak up the atmosphere of this beautiful building. Fresh pots of tea and coffee were made as we talked about the history of the building. Our room was warm and comfortable. Breakfast (hot and cold) was served in beautiful china. Delphine, the house cat, was a welcoming hostess as well.

Dear Magpiegirl036,

Thank you very much for taking the time to write a review of The Racecourse Inn, and we're so pleased that you enjoyed your stay with us. It was lovely chatting to you and we appreciated the information that you sent about Tasmania's rugby history and the connection with Bishopsbourne. I have left it in the bar area for other guests to read. As you mentioned, Delphine takes her job very seriously and loves meeting and greeting guests.

I hope you had a safe and comfortable flight back to Sydney and we hope we might see you again in Tasmania.

Warm regards,
Annabelle, Richard and Delphine

Historic building in lovely Longford, only 10mins out of Launceston. Great base for day trips. Our host Annabelle is most delightful and couldn't be more helpful. Rooms are spacious with ensuites, tea coffee, TV and freshly cut flowers. Brekky's included and there's plenty of it, loved the homemade jams. For dinner The Flagman pub up the road served up the most moist & chunky Parmigiana for a steal at $12. Kept going to this little find, steak night no let down either. Two great venues to return to each day after winding our way around the top of Tassie.

We loved staying at The Racecourse Inn. Annabelle was charming and made us feel welcome. The Inn is full of lovely antiques, wood and furnishings and the dining/lounge area had a welcoming fireplace. Our bedroom was comfortable with a small ensuite attached. The breakfast provided was absolutely lovely and beautifully presented. It was a lovely experience for us coming from a more modern place. Highly recommended.

Somewhere very special

The Racecourse Inn, Longford, is an absolutely gorgeous place to stay. The owners are lovely and friendly. The rooms are beautiful, clean and well furnished. Beds are very comfortable. Breakfast is delight.

Hosts Richard and Annabelle couldn't have been more helpful or accommodating during our 5 day stay. And they love to share their knowledge of the country. The beautiful heritage building has been lovingly restored and was a delight to come back to at the end of a day. Their cottage garden is a joy during late summer evenings.

In truth, it’s Delphine that ensures the very high standards are maintained. Go there, meet her and you’ll understand why. We would love to go back there again.

We wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Racecourse Inn.
