We drove down to see the Calcified Forest as we wanted to see whether it was similar to the Pinnacles in Western Australia .

It was pretty interesting but not as stunning as the Pinnacles Desert but definitely worth exploring the area. Make sure u drop into see the Cataraqui shipwreck before heading to Surprise Bay.

Toilet & picnic tables are available with no drinking water or other amenities. It’s approximately a 30 minutes return easy walk amongst the bush. Plenty of birds & wildlife to observe too .

Did not know just what to expect when we decided to drive to the calcified forest, the drive its self was interesting and well worth deciding to visit the site, we were the only ones there and became very absorbed in the surroundings was also great to be able to have it explained by the information board

Amazing scenery and history lesson. Beaitful drive to an interesting place. It looks like a post apocalyptic site..
