Thrilled you were able to share Rathmore & the Shearers Quarters where we particularly wanted to protect the integrity of the building but have comfortable facilities and amenities. Thank you for your review & hope you can visit again. Best wishes, Cally
We were a group of 12 adults plus kids. Cally was very helpful starting from the date I confirmed the booking and till our departure which was on the 27th.
Since this was our first time traveling in Tasmania and were on such a tight schedule the information she provided was invaluable.
The location was so beautiful and quiet. Just the way I wanted.
Will definitely come back again.
Thank you Cally!!!!
We were delighted to share Rathmore with your family & so pleased you enjoyed your taste of Tasmania. We hope you can return another time to enjoy Rathmore & its animals, including spying platypus & trout fishing in the Dew Rivulet. Thank you for leaving everything so clean & tidy ... it was greatly appreciated considering you had to leave at 4am travelling with babies & small children!
Best wishes for 2018. Warm regards,
I stayed at beautiful Georgian Rathmore House. I also visited the Shearers Quarters & Rathmore Cottage where it would be very comfortable to stay for those on a low budget & saw the Woolshed that is still in use to shear the sheep, as well as possums, pademelons & rabbits. I missed seeing their platypus as it was raining a lot.
We were delighted to have you share Rathmore with us Julia & you were a perfect house guest. Thank you for your mother's Advocaat cake recipe! Hopefully you will get to see the 6 platypus if you get back after your hiking...we would love to have you return before your trip back to Germany & I shall make the cake for you!!
What a fabulous stay! With the most stunning surroundings and wonderful accommodation, we were in heaven!
This property is the perfect place to unwind, get back to nature and explore the countryside of the Central Highlands.
I can not recommend it highly enough! It has all the facilities you need for a getaway. The Owner Cally, was wonderfully accommodating and nothing was too much trouble!
The dam has lots of platypus, we were greeted by baby lambs and had the opportunity to feed some baby calves!
The accommodation at the Shearers Quarters was SO comfortable, really cosy and warm, with a great comfy bed and a huge bathroom!
The whole experience was nothing short of exceptional.
We could have stayed for ever! I hope to come back again in the neat future.
Thrilled to have you share Rathmore with us & your timing was particularly excellent arriving the same day as the twin orphaned lambs Romulus & Remus aka R& R...these names were deliberately chosen for several reasons but we do love sharing the rest & relaxation component with guests that Rathmore offers. Lovely to have you visit to switch off & reconnect! Look forward to your next visit.... perhaps you can join Rathmore Art Retreat on 30 October to 3 November with a couple of spaces still left!
Excellent location in the middle of the countryside. The lake on the property is simply overflowing with platypuses. We spent a quiet night in a country location as we were the only people staying that night. The common facilities are very good. Cally was a very friendly and genuinely nice host. The kitchen is fully functional. But we spent a lot of the cold evening outside. The night sky from the location was just stunning.Even on an extremely cold and frosty night, the bedroom was warm and toasty. Just a pity we had to leave so early in the morning.
Thank you! We are thrilled you kept "warm & toasty" on a cold evening in Derwent Valley countryside & got to enjoy the wonderful southern night sky & Rathmore platypus. We hope you will be able to visit again.
Best wishes & warm regards,
