Owner description: A scenic 90-minute drive south from Hobart, one of southern Tasmania’s must-see attractions. You can walk high above the forest canopy and share the lives of the forest giants from up-close, looking down to the place where the wild waters of the Huon and Picton Rivers mingle. The 600-metre walkway ends at a spectacular cantilevered platform 50 metres above the riverbank, with views extending to the mountains of the World Heritage Area. Further into the forest follow the trail to the 2 swinging bridges or enjoy a peaceful walk along the Huon river, get up close to see young and mature Huon pines growing in their natural riverine rainforest environment. Expolore paddling, drifting and splashing on a raft or kayak through bouncy rapids and quiet stretches of the Picton and Huon River. Enjoy local Tasmanian produce in the cafe. Can't fit it all in one day stay overnight in the lodge, cabin or camp in your motor home. Opening times: October to March 9am – 5pm April to September 10am – 4pm

Great place to visit if you like nature and beautiful scenery, and walking of course. It is a long drive from Hobart, and the facilities are a bit poor. But you go there for the nature.

We all need to stop and pause and reflect about what a beautiful place this is. By walking along the Skywalk you can take your time to soak up the beauty of this part of Tasmania and consider the damage that has been done by logging over the years.
In the water below you can see logs of Huon pine, one of the most lovely timbers you could use. I have a sweet little chopping board made of Houn pine and it's been a favourite for years.
For those that don't like heights, it's okay. There are hand rails to hold onto and that takes away some of the apprehension.
The price is reasonable and I would certainly make a day of this by enjoying the picnic tables, the little offshoot paths to other parts of the area and relaxing.
Whether they are young kids or adults, the Tahune Forest AirWalk is a great attraction and I hope you leave appreciating the beauty of the area.
The Skywalk is easy to walk and disabled friendly. There is plenty of carparking at the entrance, including somewhere to eat and toilets.

We just paid 58$ for walking inside a metal way with an average view at the end. We could definitely get better walks and views in any national park in Tasmania without paying that much.
The swinging bridges were the only average spots in this overpriced park.
I can imagine the only value of such a place is to help disabled people have good time viewing the forest and river. I respect that.

This is an easy accessible forest experience. Love that you can spend as little or as long as you like- with a selection of short and long walks. If you can brave the cool water - bring your swimmers for a dip in the Huon - which was a fun and to the day for our boys.

Was surprised to find the Tahune Air Walk attraction was actually a long drive from the town of Geeveston. About 31kms to be exact, so found the drive a little tiring. Well worth it though.
Amazing views amongst the canopies of huge trees and another walk by the river gave us a taste of enormous Huon Pine trees many centuries old. Amazing that these ancient living things are still around. Loved the cantilever walk to appreciate the joining of the two rivers in the distance. Nice and cool on a hot day.
