Was so looking forward to eating some Abalone, unfortunately it was Terrible, Tough and hardly any taste. As I explained to them, that Abalone has to be tenderized a lot before sautéing and to be in meat size NOT small slithers of the meat, which was about 3 slithers! $25 was refunded and I suggested how it should be cooked. Quiet expensive was the menu. They advertise @ most places on the East Coast, saw a pamphlet @ the Motor Inn @ Port Arthur where we stayed and some other places which I do not remember.

Thank Chez J

Running out of time to do the Wineglass Bay track on our way to Hobart, we decided to backtrack here for a late lunch and boy were we glad we did.

Reviews stated there would always be a table and upon arrival we understood why. Initially feeling like a school cafeteria setup for ordering food, we quickly settled into the picnic table style arrangement.

We had the abalone, oyster platter, scallops, mussels with chilli, salmon..in fact i think we ordered almost everything available on the menu board; topped with a glass of white and cider.

We went for seconds, never had we had such succulent steamed mussels, large plump and juicy ones. Mmmm..the fact that most dishes came with a bread roll to soak up the tasty gravy hits the spot just so. Back home now and shellfish will never taste as good again. Thumbs up!

Unfortunately scallops were over cooked, they weren’t much bigger than a five cent piece, my friends salmon was over cooked also.
Very small serves

We stopped here for a late lunch. Oysters were fabulous. Prawns were amazing! So was the salad.

It was simple, casual but great food with a local wine and beer menu.

Great all round for a quick easy fresh meal sampling the local seafood!

Fresh selection of seafood swuch as oysters, prawns, abalone and fish at affordable prices. We arrived about 3pm but it was still relatively crowded. Queue was short though many tables were occupied.
