Weird place

3.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 2 Mar 2024
First, this is not a resort. It is an unfinished property with no restaurant at the end of a long steep dirt road far from anything. The sleeping units were comfortable and views were spectacular but these don’t make up for the faults. Best to look elsewhere.
Date of stay: January 2024
Room Tip: I recommend a rugged vehicle for the long steep dirt track to the place. No onsite restaurant so...

Freycinet Resort is a coastal dream come true! The views are breathtaking, and the staff? Top-notch! From cozy rooms to amazinf views. it's a slice of barefoot luxury.. Can't recommend it enough for a perfect getaway! Thank you to Karen and her team, always above and beyond.

Room tip: Long drive so don’t bring the sports car.

It has the feel of an 80’s old European ski lodge. No food on site unless you want 2 min noodles and a coke from a vending machine. Not pots or cooking utensils in the kitchen. No effort at all in making the guest comfortable, have stayed in better caravan park cabins.
Way too expensive for what it offers.

The lodge's beautiful, natural setting makes for a very relaxing and enjoyable experience. We loved our room with the outdoor bath, which made our stay quite special. All the staff were very welcoming, attentive and went to extra lengths to make our stay enjoyable. The breakfast menu was great and all the dishes we had were delicious.

This place is NOT a resort. When checking in and attempting to book for dinner after a long drive ,we were told we would have to do another 30 km round trip for dinner and get some fresh drinking water.
The dy after checking out we received an email explaining what they actually offered.Bit late.
It is a Wilderness Retreat and to trade as a Resort is a scam.

research the hotel well..it's not for everyone..
book it if u like:
privacy
being implanted in nature
wildlife running free around u
comfort and not luxury
we stayed in a suite cabin and had a great bedroom and living room and a varanda with a view
the main lodge common area is large and has amazing views
wine and cold cuts/cheese are available to buy
breakfast very good for a trekker
access road gravel last 4 km, extremely doable with any vehicle..
