Really great experience! Our guide James was super friendly and accomodating to our novice kayaking skills. He kept us calm and we knew we were in safe hands with James.
The experience flew by because we were having so much fun!
This was an awesome experience that I highly recommend. We were lucky the weather was gorgeous that day. James was an outstanding and knowledgeable guide who is clearly passionate about what he does and the wildlife he taught us so much about. We saw a ton of oystercatchers and seagulls, some cormorants, a white-bellied sea eagle and a baby seal <3
I was hesitant to do this as I have a ruptured eardrum that cannot get wet which makes water in general a bit scary to me. Getting advice about this from the Freycinet Adventures staff really helped me feel better about it, and after having experienced it myself I can say I am so glad I did it :) If you have similar health/safety concerns holding you back hopefully this helps. I wore a pair of good Speedo earplugs that I was confident would keep my ears dry in case anything happened, but nothing happened and everything was totally fine :) I wasn't too worried about falling in but splashing could have been an issue. James was super accommodating, making sure to give me a heads up any time there was potential for that to happen, and again even then it really wasn't bad at all.
So worth it, definitely do this if you have the chance!
What a wonderful way to view the fabulous Freycinet region! Our guide James was passionate, knowledgeable, and entertaining, we saw some unique wildlife and birds, and had a glorious morning exploring the area by kayak. Highly recommended.
James was so cool, we had such a great time! We saw some amazing things and had great conversations. It was a blast, totally recommend this.
Our guide James’s love for Honeymoon Bay and Freycinet NP was contagious. He was unbelievably knowledgeable about all of the animals in and out of the water. He could even identify bird calls and animal tracks in the sand! A truly memorable adventure.
