Terrible, terrible restaraunt
Guudguy is touted as an Asian blend restaraunt.what we got was boiled chicken scraps and a bowl of rice, it was disgusting.
Vietnamese spring rolls had been frozen and overcooked.
Simply a waste of money and disappointing experience.
If this is what visitors have to suffer after getting off the Spirit of Tasmania, then heaven help the tourist industry

We stayed in the hotel as part of a bus trip. I was very impressed how the staff had all our room keys organised on arrival and it was the fastest check in I have had as part of a group. The rooms were clean, inviting and very comfortable. The staff were friendly and looked after us well.

We were really pleased with our stay at the Novotel in Devonport. This recently opened hotel in October of 2022 was hosting and sponsoring the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra concert on the new waterfront. Precinct to celebrate both the hotel and the new public space for Devonport.
On arrival at the hotel we found a lovely bottle of wine with a plate of cheese and notes to welcome as as members of the Accor family. Our room had a wonderful view of the mouth of the Mersey river with the Spirit of Tasmania Ferries moving through the river to berth and depart each evening and morning.
The concert was lovely and the room with the view the icing on the cake. Everything was smart and clean. The hotel manager Ana went out of her way to make her guests welcome and clearly takes her responsibility very seriously. A true ambassador for tourism in Tasmania.
The lovely staff at the Good Guy restaurant attached to the hotel were doing an exceptional job considering the hotel was full and many of them were new to their roles. A particular thank you to Tamsin who made us feel so welcome when we sought a drink late in the evening after the concert and to the lovely care we received from staff in the morning at breakfast despite the heavy demand they had on their time as they worked hard to make all guests at breakfast feel comfortable.
We would happily return to the Novotel in Devonport when on our next trip to the north of the State of Tasmania from Hobart.
Thank you to everyone who made our night at the Novotel in Devonport so inviting.

Room tip: Be aware that parking is not always available at the hotel but undercover parking is available just one block away and quite convenient .

Dear Peter,
Thank you for taking the time to share your lovely comments, it was a pleasure to have you stay and a real honour to be able to support the Devonport City Council in the amazing event for the Tasmanian Community! You are certainly correct, showcasing Tasmania and particularly Devonport and the North West region is something I am deeply passionate about and what a better way to do this then an amazing concert by the talented musicians of the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra!
Thank you for taking the time also to recognise the wonderful Tamsin, we are luck to have her on our team. I will share you comments with everyone and that Tamsin personally for being the super star we know and love.
We look forward to welcoming you back on your next trip north,
Kind regards,
Ana Royal

We checked in about 4.00pm and hotel parking was supposedly taken up and the 3 or 4 parks out the front for 10 minute checking in were occupied so had to double rank.
If you were ubering, taxi or bus this would be a problem. We were directed to a public undercover carpark about 100 meters down the road, which I recall was super cheap, $7 I think it was for all night although I was a bit worried about security.

The hotel room was 10 out of 10. Super clean super quiet lovely decor. Late checkout of 110.00am was really good.

Best thing is MacDonalds is across the road so very handy for breakfast.

And around the corner on the wharf road walking to the right was an excellent hotel for excellent quality pub food.

Room tip: MacDonalds across the road would be really handy for families

Deat Andrewww,
Thank you for sharing your experience, it is great to hear that you enjoyed the comfort and cleanliness of the rooms and the convenient locations. I appreciate you sharing your comment about the parking facilities on site, it certainly can be jam packed during peak check in but we are always reviewing ways that we can streamline this for our guests.
We hope to welcome you again in the future,
Kind regards,
Ana Royal

What a perfect location for a Novotel hotel. If you can get a room overlooking the river, then you’re going to be happy. Our daughter planned this for us as a celebration for our 30th wedding anniversary. She asked when she booked to maybe do something to help make this stay special for us. Unfortunately, there was absolutely nothing done :( No wine, strawberries, card….nothing. The room was clean but only had 1 chair at the dining table. No outside table either (we did move the inside table to the balcony). No wine glasses, spare blankets/pillows, tea cups/saucers…..just the absolute basics. So BYO everything & you’ll be happy. Overall, very underwhelmed considering the exorbitant amount of money charged for this room.

Room tip: BYO anything you think you may need for your stay. Also, don’t ask to have anything special done for you stay (celebrations of any kind).

Hi there Haylesdc,
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. I am happy to hear that you enjoyed the view from the room. I am sorry to hear that we missed the opportunity to help celebrate your special occasion, this is surprising as the team love the opportunity to spoil our guests on special occasions. All our rooms are equipped with necessities for the number of people staying in house but we always have spares available for guests on request. I am disappointed to hear that this impacted the enjoyment of your stay but I appreciate you sharing how we could improve our service for the future,
We do hope to welcome you back again in the future,
Kind regards,
Ana Royal
