Our stay at this hotel was a masterclass in service recovery. We were there for two nights, and the first night was awful. On one side, people stayed up until 2200 listening to their TV, and we could hear everything. The people on the OTHER side then chose to have three 30-minute showers... at 2230, 2330, and 0130. The placement of their bathroom must have been close to our bed, as every shower woke us up and kept us awake. As a result, we didn’t get much sleep and couldn’t get up early enough to go on our planned Summit walk. This was disappointing.
When I asked the next day if the people next to us had checked out due to our difficulties sleeping, the staff were fantastic, led by Alana. We were moved into a King suite next the boardroom to guarantee no noise, and we had a wonderful night the second night. The room was lovely, the bathroom fantastic (with an amazing shower!) and we even had currawongs and a pademelon feeding from our Juliet balcony. Alana couldn’t have done more to make us feel valued.
The quality of the food was also good - we had in room service both nights, and enjoyed it.
Overall, this was a nice stay, despite the first night and missing the Summit walk. The Staff made all the difference. More
