Spent a wonderful day birding Bruny Island with Karen Dick through Inala Nature Tours. Having provided Karen with a fairly specific list of birds we would like to try and see, was soon impressed with the effort she put in to locate them for us. Along with the birds we spent the day enjoying and hearing about the ecology, history and 'feel' of Bruny Island. Could not have asked for a more pleasant, knowledgeable and hard working guide. Highly recommended, many thanks :-)
Thank-you for leaving such a lovely review! We're so pleased that you had a great time with Karen and that she was able to show you a piece of our Inala and Bruny Island paradise. All of our guides love what they do and it is always nice to hear that their passion shined through on tour. Many thanks again.
We are only backyard birders but wanted an in depth view of Bruny Island. Our day with Mark gave us just what we wanted. Mark is an experienced birder and told us much we didn't know about the birds on Bruny and helped us see several of them. But he also had an amazing, in depth knowledge about the trees, shrubs, grasses, animals, history of the area and even the literature of Tasmania. After a morning tour of the Inala Nature Preserve we visited the Cape Bruny lighthouse (fabulous views) and then went on to Adventure Bay. We saw several birds and other wildlife along the way. Because We had only a few days in Tasmania and don't drive on the left side of the road we arranged to be picked up at our hotel. All in all it was a fabulous day and we can't thank Mark enough for making it so. It was worth every penny and we would highly recommend it for anyone interested in an in depth up close view of Bruny Island.
Thank-you for taking the time to leave such a lovely review! All of our tours are personalised and are tailored to the client, so it is really great to hear that our pre-tour communication is on point! Mark is one of our wonderful guides whose depth of knowledge helps paint a whole picture, and we're so pleased that you came away with lasting memories of Inala and Bruny Island.
I love the whole ethos of Inala. Tonia Cochran has made this nature reserve heaven and has encouraged the return of the 40 spotted pardalote - and bonus, we saw one! In fact, we saw so many birds, we could easily have played a form of Bird Bingo, which Inala almost encourages because it provides a list where you can tick off what you see (and make a list of what you need to find next time).
Our tour guide was Cat, charming, knowledgable and absolutely fierce about preserving nature; and a deadset bird expert and pretty good on plants too. Over four hours, we walked all over Inala, heard the distninctive calls of the Striated Pardalote, the New Holland Honeyeater and the Grey Shrikethrush but heard and saw so many more. Drove to Cloudy Bay and to Sharps Rd to get an excellent introduction to seagulls (actually, not really, we discovered that seagulls are just shorthand for a wide variety of gulls). Included is a hearty morning tea with the best view you've ever seen. Highly recommended. Plus! Added echidnas just concertina-ing right up to have a sticky beak at us.
Thank-you for your review and the clever catch line! We're all really proud of the conservation work that we do here at Inala, and it is especially nice when our guests can experience it with us, and see where they fit into the picture. All of our guides are passionate about nature and it is great that Cat had such a rapport with you. It sounds as though you have come away with some great memories of Inala and Bruny Island, and we look forward to seeing you again!
We had a great day with Cat Davidson, visiting the highlights on Bruny plus learning a lot about life there and the ecosystems. Saw lots of birds but sadly no white wallaby! Our guide met us from the ferry in her 4WD, was very personable and knowledgeable, managed to avoid the crowds and was happy to tailor the private tour to our needs/interests. Would highly recommend a visit to the fascinating Bligh museum. Would have loved to spend a night at Inala as well but our planned holiday itinerary would not allow. Bruny is beautiful and very interesting.
Thank-you for taking the time to leave a review! Despite not being able to stay overnight, we're so happy that you managed to fit in a full day, and that the tour provided you with excellent memories. Cat is one of our knowledgeable guides and we're really pleased that she was able to share Bruny and Inala with you! Sorry the white wallabies decided to play hard-to-get whilst you were here, but it makes for a good excuse to come back!
We had an amazing day out with Cat, one of the best bird guides we have ever had the pleasure of being with. She has vast knowledge and is excellent at spotting birds. But more than this. She is excited and genuinely loves the birds and animals of Bruny Island and Australia. She fills you with enthusiasm and you come away feeling that you really have seen a bit of the true Tasmania. The whole company has the ethos of protecting and caring for the animals. Wish we could have stayed longer! Couldn't recommend it enough.
Thank-you so much for taking the time to leave such a lovely review! We are also really pleased that our commitment shone through, and that you were able to take away memories that will last a lifetime. Cat is one of our lovely guides who is passionate about Inala's place in the environment and it sounds as though she was a perfect match for you. You are welcome back any time!
We went on a night tour to see quolls, and a day tour to see as many endemic birds as possible and Inala delivered brilliantly. Cat is an outstanding guide, with infectious enthusiasm and deep and wide knowledge - very impressive, and very enjoyable too - we could not have asked for more quolls, and managed 10 of the 12 endemics - a delight!
Thank-you for your great review, and so glad you had such a brilliant time at Inala! Cat is one of our lovely guides who has a deep commitment to conservation and is happy to share her knowledge. We look forward to welcoming you back to tick off the last 2 endemics.
