My boyfriend especially booked this place when we visited the blue mountains area. Though the rating seems a bit too high. I mean we love the fact it is in a guest house, so it doesn't cater to that many people. Maybe it's just the menu available to order from that didn't go well with what we were hoping to get.

Nineteen23 has been our 'go to' restaurant when we are in the mountains for several years now and we have always been delighted with the quality of their food and the friendly and knowledgeable service. Yesterday however they excelled themselves. We chose Nineteen23 to celebrate a family reunion. We are a family of 10, 6 adults and 4 children and we couldn't have been better looked after. Everything was superb, from the friendly welcome and attentive service to the excellent seasonal menu, all in the beautiful grounds of Silvermere. Nothing was too much trouble right down to the special dessert created for the children and the great family photo taken by Karen! Our family had a wonderful day. Thank you Scott, Karen and chef Max for making it memorable.

My hubby and I went here recently, the food was very nice and they cooked our fish perfectly. Service was very good, no one in your face but always made sure wine/water was topped up. We would go again.

We've been regular diners at Nineteen23 since it opened to the public and every time the staff and the chef impress. The front-of-house staff are always welcoming and friendly and the food is excellent and well-priced for the fine dining experience that is offered. I always enjoy the flavours and textures of the components of each dish and appreciate the thought and planning that goes into creating the seasonal menus.
I think the previous reviewer had some old information - you can order just one course if that's your preference or the degustation menu if you like the meal planned for you.
Some personal highlights, food-wise, were the jerusalem artichoke & yoghurt soup, the smoked pumpkin, and the pearl barley risotto.
Keep doing what you're doing. We love Nineteen23.

What an incredibly pretentious restaurant and we left as soon as we saw the menu.

They require you pay for two courses, and, we couldn't find two things we wanted to eat. We came to the conclusion that the chef has been watching too many food shows and thinks, by putting fancy named things on the menu, justfies the over the top prices.
