We were very happy with he accommodation and the service. Im not sure if we paid for breakfast but they made us a nice fruit salad and were very hospitable.
Its a nice place tucked away in the bush and we saw heaps of kangaroos and lots of other nice wildlife. When we woke up there were some beautiful birds which i had never seen and im pretty certain they got up before us and put some bird seed near our door to attach them. Simple thing for them to do but it was very nice to wake up to.
I get hay fever and was worried i would have a problem but i had no issues which was nice.

Sean was a gracious and welcoming host. He had a lot of opinions on a number of subjects which made for some lively political discussion. He was very accommodating and easy-going which made the stay pleasant and we felt welcomed. The breakfast included was good. Lots of great wildlife and walks and a nice distance from town without being too far.

The 'eco' part probably needs a little work. Halogen lights for example, caged eggs and palmolive in the bathroom are not super ethical/environmentally friendly. But eco for economic may perhaps be more the aim and it was good value for money. I think a few small changes on the ecology side and it could be even more special.

Very cosey little place and a very quiet and scenic location. The rooms were very clean and Sean was very friendly and helpful. Would defiantly recommend to anyone wanting a different experience from a motel/hotel room. Sean even had a baby room he was looking after which was very cute!

Thankyou for taking the time to review.
yes, the baby roo - not baby room - damm auto correct lol.

unfortunately the baby red-necked wallaby passed away last night.
sometimes after extreme shock/trauma macropods (kangaroos and wallabies) release chemicals into their bodies which break the organs down over 2-3 weeks.
so this was the deciding week as too whether or not hed make it.

bummer ...

go little fella, find that big pasture in the sky.
RIP Rupert :'(

Enjoyed my time at Mount Blu Eco Retreat. The location is lovely and peaceful with some relaxing walks. The room was clean and cosy and it was very nice to relax by the fire. Our host was great with showing us around and provided information on places to visit as well as a great breakfast.

Ensure you have a four wheel vehicle, compass, not just navigator applications
Leave your good humour at the non signed gate if you indeed find it, only conversation with host via email, phone or if you indeed get to meet host or into establishment is Explicitly & Definitely AFTER check in time on the arrival day.
Quote " I have a life" author MT Eco Blue host

The saying is 'you get what you pay for' payment is deducted from your account prior to check in whether you opt to pay on arrival so the cheapest price on booking site is for photos PLEASE this MT Blue Eco site is for you The locals in Tenterfield know of this venue & don't recommend but definitely know of their practices hummmmmm NOT So NICE

thank you for allowing me the time here now, to answer your concerns.
so this is my punishment for not tolerating your arrogance and rudeness ... interesting.
do you think that because you pay money, us property owners must tolerate your poor attitude and behaviours?
i think not!

first of all, you drove past the sign at the front of my property 3 times.
the sign is about the size of a small car.

upon making a reservation, you recieve an email confirmation with explicit directions on how to find us as google maps and satnavs arent accurate.

at 1pm everyday i send a second set of directions to the mobile phone number of our incoming guests. *you never provided contact details.

the 1.2km of dirt road on the way, is graded regularly and maintained often by our local council as it is a road to a popular tourist destination.
a public road which is not maintained would open local council to liability and litigation.
sports cars and hotted up lowered HSVs etc come up this dirt road to the lookout.
maybe you really need to stay in the city luv!

you tried to tell me that you were talking to a friend of mine, this local at the lookout named Mark and locals dont reccommend my property ... i dont know anybody named Mark.
i really think our ongoing #1ranking on TripAdvisor explains all.

you were inside the booking policy and as such were required to pay for your accommodation.

at 1:25pm you left a message stating that you had been trying to find the property for 40minutes. that puts you at 12:45pm trying to check in.
i politely told you at 2.04pm that check in wasnt until 2pm.
at this point you decided to be rude to me.
YOU WERE SITTING AT THE LOOKOUT, 300m from my front gate with the dirty big sign out front, right at the gate which reads, "MOUNT BLUE ECO RETREAT."

darlin - i normally work wild cattle, wild horses and wild women - i am probably not the person to abuse nor be rude to ...

thank you for embarrassing yourself yet again.

Sean.
