Sitting at this absolute clean motel room loving it. Rang up to confirm my check in time the gentleman who answered the phone was friendly and offered a great customer service, he also advised me that a girl will call and confirm the room with you. She rang back and again a very friendly and inviting person. Will definitely come back. And also hats off to the cleaner. Well done guys.

Stayed for one night on a trip, as it seemed to tick all the boxes for a budget stay.
Check in at the bar downstairs, and then given key and directions to room upstairs.
Room not of a great size, with two single beds, a sink in the corner, a hanging rail, a desk and a single chair, and not much room for anything else.
However, the bed was comfortable and the room very clean, as was the shared shower/bath/toilet down the hall.
There is a also a small room for guests use for breakfast with a very ample supply of what is needed. Cereals, fruit, yogurts, coffees, teas, juice, water, kettle, milk, breakfast bars etc all in great abundance and available at any time.
There was a bit of noise from the street outside, but this was because there was a Ducati motorcycle riders club staying the same night, and the sound of them leaving in the morning was music to some peoples ears.
It was a pleasant, comfortable stay in a clean and well kept room, with facilities to match, and a self serve breakfast that exceeded expectations.

The Royal Hotel has a very different external appearance nearly looking like some building out of the Middle East. Inside it is very Australiana with a lovely outback atmosphere.
The staff were friendly and the beer cold and very cheap. We haven't had a schooner of Coopers Pale Ale for $4 for years.

Don't be fooled by the hotel exterior. The motel units at the back are brand new, well presented and very comfortable. As usual with motel accommodation, parking is outside the door. We found the owners to be very pleasant and helpful - I suggested hairdryers would be a useful addition to the bathroom and was told they were planned. Some units were still being completed during our stay and as the restaurant was not open, we enjoyed a picnic dinner outside on a beautiful evening. Good value, and recommended.

Very recently refurbished motel rooms behind the hotel are excellent value for money. We paid $95 for a queen bed on a Saturday night with undercover parking. Small rooms but so clean and comfortable. Tenterfield Saddler building/museum is opposite the pub. No meals at pub at the moment. Went to Bowls Club for decent club meal. Plenty of options nearby for food.
