What an amazing country motel. If you want five star glitz and glamour then this is definitely not for you but if you want a true blue experience then I couldn't think of better. Do not be put off by the rugged exterior appearance just wait until you see your room, it is clean and tidy and packed with all the things that you only get in the top range hotels and everything is so reasonably priced. There is plenty of space both inside and out, large lawns, BBQ area, under cover parking, you name it it's here. So if you want a truly homely country motel experience in a great area then I would suggest that you hot foot it down to Gulgong, introduce yourself to the proprietor, my brand new old mate Col and tell him Mick sent you, you won't be disappointed. This is the best value for money that you will get anywhere.

Room tip: They are all great.

Just spent the weekend in Gulgong for a friend's sons 18th birthday, and stayed at Goldfields Motor Inn. It was immaculate, spacious, comfortable, quiet and homey. It is full of old country charm, and air-conditioned. Hosts were friendly and welcoming, and everything I imagined country hospitality to be. We forgot to put our breakfast orders in, so I can't tell you about that, but what I can tell you is the menu was amazing and extremely well priced. There are complimentary condiments in the kitchen, as well as an unbelievably well stocked mini bar with the best prices you will see anywhere! The bathroom was spacious, but if I had to pick one bad thing about the place, it would be the shower is on the small side. But if that's all I can say that is bad, then that's nothing at all! We have already booked our next stay there!

Room tip: I doubt there is a bad room in the complex. Just ring and speak to the hosts to discuss your needs.

Don't let the neglected drive up appearance put you off. We arrived to find our room pre-heated (Yes, it gets cold in Gulgong!) our fridge stocked with milk (real) bread, condiments, and very reasonable bar prices for drinks etc. We booked a family room and found extra pillows, warm blankets and electric blankets for each bed as well as an extra heater in the second bedroom. The bathroom was well stocked with towels, and toiletries, in fact, much better than the Novotel I had recently stayed in! The kitchen was well stocked with all the equipment you'd need. And then there were the breakfasts! $9.00 was the most expensive for a huge cooked breakfast, with eggs done to perfection. Our hosts were excellent and made our stay very pleasant. Lovely country atmosphere, and so quiet at night.

Room tip: The owners were very helpful when it came to getting the right type of family room for our needs. Give them a call and discuss what you want.

Country motels are mostly much of a muchness. We were pleasantly surprised with this hotel. Hosts were charming. Rooms are huge, clean, dark at night, and very quiet. Complimentary tea/coffee/toast/condiments in the morning were perfect for our early morning get-away. Good value for money.
