It’s breathtaking to feel gusting wind at your back while gazing down at the stillness of the trees in the valley below.

If there is only one place you can go to to look out over the Blue Mountains this would have to be it. The view over the forest and mountains beyond the lookout for a moment ‘took my breath away’. I was aware of my breathing stopping for some moments - I was in awe of the view. It’s grandness, it’s vastness, it’s majesty and power. It’s beauty.
It was also relatively peaceful.
The Three Sisters is a lovely view but you share it with a LOT of tourists. This view is possibly even more spectacular and at times you may have it to yourself. Don't be put off by all the cars parked when you drive up as many are away doing the Cliff Top Walk. Evan's Lookout is even quieter and also fantastic. Do walk to the falls but be prepared for some steep sections - we did not realise this.
It’s a little more off the beaten track here than places like the three sisters but all the more beautiful for that as it’s much quieter. There are wide expansive views of the valley and plenty of tome for introspection. The drive down to the lookout is also wonderful in itself.
We visited in August 2019. It was nice to get away from the crowds visiting the Blue Mountains. It is an easy drive and walk (a few stairs) to the viewing platform. A very friendly crimson rosella was allowing close up photography. Probably looking for some food. The views from the viewing platform are spectacular. The Bridal Veil Falls were flowing and falling 100's of metres to the rocks below. There are also toilets here if required and tables and chairs for picnics. Well worth the short drive and walk.
This is a place where visiting any time during the day provides an amazing vista. I was there very late in the day when the sun was only on the top section of the mountains - just beautiful. The valley is just so deep, one could stand there for hours and just absorb the scenery- and it is all totally free and a five minute drive from Blackheath township.
