Set in the World Heritage Blue Mountains National Park , the lookout Govett's Leap at Blackheath provides amazing views out over the sandstone escarpments of the Grose Valley. A definite WOW! If you are fit and keen there is a walk down the cliff face to the bottom of Bridal Veil Falls (but remember you've got to walk back up! :-) or you can walk along either side of the escarpment, on the left towards Pulpit Rock, an amazing outcrop of cliff that projects pulpit like out into the Grose Valley or right towards Evans Lookout from where the Grand Canyon walk begins. Both about 3 hours return to Govetts Leap. Be sure to stop at the National Parks and Wildlife Office on the way into Govett's Leap to pick up maps and guides and discuss your walk with the local officers. Walks range from easy to extremely difficult. There is a very popular picnic area at the lookout but remember to buy your supplies at the deli's in Blackheath before you go to the lookout!. Blackheath itself is a cute mountain village with great old world guesthouse accommodation and excellent restaurants. A relaxing place to stay and explore the Blue Mountains.
