My husband and I first stayed here in 1994 for our honeymoon. We returned to celebrate our 18th anniversary. We stayed again in the Chauffeurs Suite, which is nice b/c it has a separate kitchenette/dining area, bathroom and sitting/dressing room, while the TV, lounge chairs and bed are in the bedroom with the fireplace. The proprietors have changed, but Andre and Jenny have built this establishment into something to be very proud of. We could not fault our stay. Andre and Jenny are so friendly and fun to chat with, but we had all the privacy in the world. We loved the fresh bread (won't admit how many slices we ate when we first arrived!) and the fresh free-range eggs from the resident chickens were a treat. Couldn't fault the cleanliness - not a speck of dust, crumb or hair anywhere (it became a challenge after a while to find something to pick about!!) We enjoyed the fireplace in the bedroom, the deep spa, and the super-comfy bed after our 3-hour hike at Evans Lookout. We loved the garden with visits from beautiful wild birds, and the two gorgeous resident cats who just appear beside you as you wander the garden and yard. Location to Blackheath is handy enough - a short drive and there are lovely cafes and restaurants. We ate at the Shanti Indian Restaurant - delicious food, charming atmosphere and great service. Two nights wasn't enough. Thanks, Andre & Jenny, for sharing your beautiful little piece of paradise. :-)

My husband and I stayed 3 nights in the Maid's suite. Upon arrival, Andre presented us with a warm loaf of homemade bread that was delicious. We also had a little Christmas tree next to our wood burning stove. We had a bit of rainy weather while visiting so it was really nice to have a supply of wood and a big deep bathtub. The gardens are really lovely. Our kitchen was fine and the bed was comfortable. There was no WiFi or computer to use.

We would recommend that you "provision up" in Katoomba as there are smaller grocery stores in Blackheath. We found a couple of good delicatessens, a nice butchery and fruit market in Blackheath. We ate in each evening, mostly because we were tired and wet and loved our little suite. Evans Lookout Road (where the Hideaway is located) is one of the main access roads into the Grand Canyon area of the Blue Mountains. We did the Grand Canyon hike as well as the National Pass out of Wentworth Falls. Andre gave us a lot of information to help us make hiking decisions, but we found the National Park staff to be very helpful, as well.

Room Tip: Maid Suite was very charming with a very nice bathroom. Nice sound system with good satellite radio.

Secrets Hideaway is just that. We had a most enjoyable break for three days and yes the breakfast supplies were very nice. We stayed in the Loft suite which is the smallest of the units. The room is certainly functional and the bathroom and spa is very nicely done. Only advice - be aware that this is a self contained (non serviced) unit and that the breakfast supplies aren't replenished although we got nearly enough for our stay anyway.

Certainly a place that we would go back to.

We stayed here for 3 nights last year and enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere . The suite was immaculate and beautifully furnished with the feel of an old world charm. Upon arrival we were delighted to find the most delicious home made bread from the two hosts who were extremely helpful and friendly. We had the Chauffeur,s Suite that was decorated very tastefully. It was comfortable and inviting to return to after a day out. We were looking for a quiet getaway to relax and we found it at Secrets Hideaway.

I agree with every positive review I've read, so therefore I agree with every review that has been posted about Secrets Hideaway. It's private, immaculate, friendly, and very comfortable. Jen and I stayed in the Chauffeur's Suite for two nights and went for two fantastic bush walks. The hosts gave us the freshest homemade bread I've ever had. We cooked four eggs before our walk from a few beautiful chickens that roamed the exquisite gardens surrounding us.
