Have known the Arnold Arms for many years through all its changes of style and owners. Its still a pub but it has a big secret its restaurant is really really good serving good quality food at a reasonable price.
Have visted twice in past month. A Sunday lunch and a weeknight dinner . On both visits service and food were excellent so I can only assume its like this all the time.

Driven passed here many times and decided to try it for lunch as the rain had stopped and there is an outside sitting area. I throughly enjoyed the fish and chips however l thought the flesh on the cod was not very ' meaty' compared with other restaurants. My friend had a burger which had at least 3 rashers of bacon and as many slices of cheese plus salad on the bun. I hunk you'd need a big appetite to fully appreciate it.
The exterior of the pub is definitely in need of some attention in the garden area. Compared to the external decoration on the road side it could be easily considered. To be a different building. A shame!
The staff were very pleasant and friendly

We "discovered" the new owners at the The Arnold about 6 months ago and have been regular visits since. Whether your going for the 2 for 1 steaks, Sunday lunch or hitting the Al la carte for a special occasion, the food is excellent, fresh, tasty, hot, generous portions and the prices are very reasonable. However, what makes "The Arnold" special is the people Paul, Rebecca and there team are great. Warm, friendly and willing to go the extra mile to make your visit special. Sometimes when they are busy, things can take a while, but it is worth the wait.

Visited here on a couple of occasions this year, never been disappointed, the Sunday roasts are amazing, proper home cooked food, very tasty and plentiful! All the service staff are always very helpful, chatty and polite. Recommended if you need some good old comfort and great food. Kids play area out the back too which keeps the kids happy for hours!

Had a really interesting and tasty meal here on Saturday night. I had the Chicken in leek, wine and tarragon sauce. delicious! my friend had the trout and said that was delicious too. Big plate of food and extra vegetables in a dish too, couldn't fault the meal in any way.The service was brilliant, plenty of staff on hand both in the bar and the restaurant. everyone friendly and polite. First time here but will be back for more.
