After visiting the museum next door thought we'd pop in an have a quick half, 2 pints later we left. Great welcome from both the guys serving a proper sit an chat place, no jukebox, no wifi, no television just great. I can highly recommend the Lily the Pink cider.

We first went into to the little shop next door which sells an excellent mouth-watering selection of ales etc. and decided to pop into their small cosy 'pub' next door. We can see why CAMRA gave the pub an award. We really took to this place and each selected a a different ale and they were excellent. The chap serving was friendly and the prices were good. It's almost a cafe atmosphere as opposed to a noisy pub (So no fruit machines or sports TV in the background... just small groups of people enjoying conversations over fine ales). If you like ales and ciders (they do serve wine etc too) and a cosy place to enjoy them then pay a visit. It's not a place that's open late (Fri and Sat it closes at 10pm and Mon-Thu it closes at 6pm I believe) but then it's a place to enjoy a drink or maybe 2 or 3 but not the sort of place to drink 8 pints of lager and the clientele reflect that. I would be happy to come back repeatedly when I visit my relatives in Rugby.

Beer straight from the barrel and a good selection of beers and ciders - excellent. The two guys serving were so miserable and unwelcoming. The room lacked any sort of comfort or atmosphere. Sums up Rugby, I left 50 years ago and nothing has changed!

One of Rugby's newer real ale outlets, but building on the success of the shop next door. The chilled barrels of real ale are visible on a stillage in the "long and thin" room, so plenty of gravity beers on offer. Many locally brewed. There's also a small fridge of bottled beers, but you can also choose from the larger selection of the shop next door, and last visit there were also some ciders on offer. Coupled with great people running the bar make this a regular stop. In good weather, there's outdoor seating overlooking Rugby school, and the gyratory!
