I stayed at Sunningdale House with a friend on a trip to Uttoxeter horse-races. We were delighted to find a beautifully renovated and furnished 2-bedroomed house. We did not do our own cooking on this trip, but the modern kitchen had plenty of utensils, and a new cooker and large fridge. Parking was easy and secure in a private enclosed area just a few metres from the house. Walking to the centre of Uttoxeter was a 2-minute stroll, and only 10 minutes walk to the racecourse. There are only a few pubs and restaurants in the centre of the town, but worthy of mention is the White Hart Hotel, where we had an excellent and inexpensive dinner, and the quaintly-faded comfortable lounge bar of the Bank House Hotel, which serves excellent Marston's Pedigree beer and has horse-themed prints on the wall and a warm, welcoming reception from its staff. Sunningdale House is a great to place to stay if you want quiet comfort and more space than you find in similarly-priced hotels.
