Went for dinner with friends on Tuesday. Quite busy but made so welcome by Lucy who really deserves a mention. Food portion was massive and I was very hungry so no complaints there. Try the burger but don't eat anything for 24 hours before you go. Fantastic location by the canal and good selection of ales. Well done

Thank fradwell

Since I last sent in a review, the pub has changed hands (about a year ago), and the difference is demonstrable !

We go in regularly, and the atmosphere, environment and clientele has changed significantlyy

Kelly and Jim have transformed the pub into a really "must go" destination. The beers are as good as ever, but there is a good range of wines and a shelf of maybe 25 gins to choose from !!

The food and menu is better....I had fish and chips, and the fish was brilliant. When I enquired, it turns out it was fresh fish just in that day. Haven't had the famous Sunday Roast, but our friends have it every week say its top work ....the number of customers each Sunday suggest that it is that good !!

The staff are smart, cheerful and helpful, and the whole place is clean, tidy and inviting. That log fire still works for me over the cold winter days we've had !

Kelly is running a number of theme evenings : gin, rum and wine off the top of my head ........we did the first gin evening.....packed out and great value!

Kids and dog friendly, Kelly and the team try to accommodate everyone....we've started taking board games in and playing.....great fun !!

Definitely worth a trip out to visit !!!!!!!!!

Been for a drink on the first sunny day of the and it was brilliant. Lucie greeted us. Very welcoming. Ted gave us all chocolate! Which is always brilliant!! And obviously landlady Kelly was great.
