I took my little fellas Ben (13) and Brandon (11) for the first time. I hadn't been since 2008 or summat! We had a fantastic, tiring two days.
Day 1: We got into the park early on Monday, allowing us to cover Nemesis, Galactica, Smiler, Th13rteen and Oblivion twice. Well, we only did Oblivion once; can't think why . We were far too knackered and uninterested in queuing for Rita.
Day 2: We took care of Rita and tackled the other big five twice (again!) and spent the rest of the day exploring the smaller rides, such as Duel and Battle Galleons (great if you don't mind getting wet! ).
The queue times over both days was fantastic. We rarely waited beyond 15 min (?) on any ride. 13 & Rita was the longest but we managed to get to the front quite a lot.
TIP: my boys sussed this out very, very quickly (I'm thick!)... If you use the 'Single Rider' queue and don't mind your group being split up, you get to the front quick-like bypassing the main queue. We did this on Smiler and Spinball Whizzer, getting to the front really quick and still sat together
The only reason(s) Alton Towers doesn't get 10/10 is because I marked them down for over-inflated prices on food & drink. Also, the prices for merchandising and photos are ridiculous. Any org with good business acumen should know if you lowered the prices to an affordable cost, more people would buy... right?
So, I recommend saving your money, take your own food, take lots of selfies and have fun. Laters, my fellow humans!
