Visited ' the Neuk' on a whim for lunch. I had seen some recent reviews but thought l would give it a try. There is a new chef in the kitchen and it really shows, l had the pork belly, with leek mash accompanied by caramelised sliced apple, it was fabulous. Fish and chips is also highly recommended. Cheers

We called in for tea with our son

Nothing to write home about the fish and chips where great, the burger cremated, the scampi was solid

Desserts little ones ice cream was the best the same can't be said for the other deserts

The bar was dirty, carpets threadbare and pool table ripped

What a shame as this was not the case a year ago on our last visit

Called in to grab a bite of lunch. Chose from the 2 meals for £10 offer so did not expect gourmet dining but the pork chop I was served was almost meatless - mostly bone and fat (which instead of being crispy was grey and flabby) paper thin, dry and shrivelled. YUCK! It came with a tump of dry mash and a mixture of veg which was not too bad if a bit cold. No gravy but the very friendly barmaid did offer me this as a side dish which I accepted thank fully but chop still revolting. My husband's ham egg and chips was an improvement although chips tasted of stale fat. A shame as it seemed a friendly place but we will not return or recommend to anyone else.

Visited yesterday, we had our Great Dane (belonging to a family member), with us.
Made welcome and ordered our meals, the rib eye steak was not available but switched to serloin, also ordered lasagna and cod. All very good, only slight comment is that steak came with chips, one mushroom, tomato. My husband was disappointed in that no peas or coleslaw, but it was tender. Staff, friendly and dog lovers. Probably call if in area again though.
