We loved our stay in this house, gorgeous property. Quiet area and lovely restaurants/bars nearby. Great base for exploring Alnwick to Holy Island.

“Very comfortable home from home, perfect for exploring the lovely area.”
Reviewed 5 June 2016 for a stay in May 2016

Would recommend this lovely old cottage which is very well equipped and perfect for a family stay. The owners, brothers Colin and David, were there to meet us and welcome us to the property and the flowers and wine left for us were a lovely welcoming touch . The two sitting rooms, Several TVs and wifi meant that our teenagers were happy although we were also busy exploring the local area and all the attractions close by ( Lindisfarne, Bamburgh Castle, Edinburgh to name but a few). The kitchen overlooks the very pretty garden and the stream close by and has everything needed for preparing family meals-although there are lots of pubs nearby for those who don't wish to cook. Would definitely visit again and recommend this property.

Liked best: The beautiful garden and lovely light kitchen and seating area overlooking the garden.

“A Champagne Retreat”

We were celebrating our Golden Anniversary and our younger son's birthday, who was visiting from his home in New York, so to find a bottle of champagne and a vase of roses on arrival was a great surprise. However, the owners, brothers David and Colin were not aware of these events so we assume they prepare this welcome for all their visitors. The 200 year old cottage has been beautifully modernised and extended and was extremely comfortable, with a coal fire if required. The kitchen was well supplied with everything one might need to make for an easy, relaxed holiday. A lovely garden with a nearby stream flowing past, not to mention the whistling mynah birds next door, completed the picture.
Belford itself is well-placed for a walking, sightseeing or walking along the beautiful beaches holiday and is a very short distance from the A1 and we can recommend the Bluebell Hotel for a good meal.

“Mrs”
Reviewed 24 October 2015 for a stay in October 2015

Stayed here for 1 night with 3 friends for a girly night away. This place was perfect for what we needed. Immaculately clean and well presented. The hosts (2 brothers) were lovely and gave us lots of useful information on places nearby and where to eat etc. Bottle of fizz on arrival was a very thoughtful touch too! Would definitely stay again!
