“Wonderful Holiday”

We really enjoyed our holiday in this lovely cottage. It was very comfortable with all amenities and the location is superb for exploring the Northumberland coast.
We particularly liked watching the swallows and their chicks who had a nest outside as well as the horses in the field at the bottom of the garden who would come to say hello.
The cake on arrival was also very welcome and a nice touch.
Would definitely recommend this and hope to come back next year

Thank you for your supportive comments. We're glad you liked our cottage and enjoyed Northumberland - most of all we are delighted you wish to return. Last Saturday we watched all four swallow chicks leave the nest one by one. They were all very competent flyers! It was the second successful brood this year and unfortunately the last but I'm sure they'll be back next year and I hope you are too.

“Comfortable, cosy cottage in quiet location”

We stayed here for a week 6-13 June. It's a great little cottage, well equipped, very comfortable and cosy and in a quiet cul-de-sac. The owners are very thoughtful and had left a welcome card, cake and a pint of milk in the fridge for us so that we could make ourselves a cup of tea on arrival - and following a long drive from the West Midlands, it was very welcome! While we sat in the lounge, we were entertained by the swallows that were nesting and feeding their young in the roof of the covered patio area! The garden is kept very tidy and overlooks the fields towards the coast. The free Wi-Fi in the cottage is a nice bonus.

The Sands is ideally located in a quiet village, and the perfect base for exploring the area. We were fortunate to have fabulous weather and filled every day going out and about walking and visiting local attractions. It's an easy walking distance from The Sands to Beadnell Harbour and its beautiful beach. In the village there are two hotels/pubs, The Craster Arms and Beadnell Towers - both have great menus and the food is delicious! There is also a little "corner shop" a few minutes walk from the cottage, and a fish and chip shop.

Seahouses is a very short drive away (or a good walk along the beach), which has lots of lovely shops, restaurants, coffee houses, The Ship pub, and a Co-op supermarket for a bigger food shop.

We loved the cottage - it was perfect!

Thank you for your helpful review and kind comments. The swallows are back after they missed last year - we noticed they have small, hungry chicks now. They do provide bonus entertainment!

Thank you for your kind comments. Beadnell is a special place to get away from it all but without being completely isolated.

Liked best: comfy beds, bright and clean, tasteful nautical/local decoration in the cottage, safe garden, great location
Liked least: boys disappointed there was no DVD player but we were hardly in anyway - if we'd had bad weather it may have been an issue, they would have had to play together!!

It's great to get such wonderful feedback - thank you! But what is even better is to hear that you and your family had such an enjoyable stay. Sounds like you made the most of your stay in Northumberland and it would be a pleasure to see you back soon.
