A friend and I had a twin room for one night in the Hog's Head Inn. The staff were friendly and our room was very clean and comfortable. We had an evening meal on arrival which was good value and tasty. The barman was helpful in finding out what meals I could eat as a vegan. The restaurant was busy and we were told it was a 30minute wait but in fact it was no longer than 20 minutes.
The beds were comfortable and there was plenty of hot water for showers. There was plenty of choice for breakfast - cereals, fruit, toast and full English.
Would definitely stay here again if in the area.

Room Tip: Room nine on the ground floor was very quiet, overlooking a grassy area at the rear of the car park.

We stopped here on the way to Newcastle and had a lovely lunch. Burgers, pizza and veggie burger. Great value for money too. The restaurant looks new and was lovely and clean . The aesthetic look of the place was also beautiful . Waiting staff were attentive . I would definitely recommend.

The hotel is well maintained. The rooms are comfortable, clean, and spacious.

The restaurant serves good bar grub. The service is efficient and the staff pleasant. One downside was that the buffet breakfast was busy, and a few folk had to wait for the trays to be refilled.

A little pricey for what it is, but given the location, it's ideal for exploring Northumberland.

Booked here for a wedding as it accepted dogs and was close to Alnwick. Fairly expensive given it is on an industrial estate next to motorway (£130 per night). Breakfast is very poor though is included. Sausages were mostly gristle. Food to order is standard pub food but expensive. Rooms are large and spacious but no air conditioning making them stuffy. Management need some advice on how to talk to customers - confronted at check out in front of other guests about another guest who had not paid which was nothing to do with me but as they were part of the wedding group they felt it appropriate to ask me to pay and get the money from my friend(!) Very unprofessional.

We are sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your visit to The Hog’s Head Inn. We believe our prices are very fair compared to other accommodation providers in Alnwick, with our rooms being a lot more modern than some other Inns nearby. Our location next to the A1 and near to services, not on an industrial estate as you describe, gives easy access to and from the Inn.
Our buffet breakfast which is complimentary, is served every day of the year and your comment about the quality of the breakfast leaves us disappointed as we know they are not as you have stated.
The Menu which we have is priced fairly with something for everyone with prices for main meals starting from £6.95 which is not at all expensive.
Granted our rooms do not have air conditioning, however we are a 3* Inn and not a 5* Hotel.
We apologise if you feel you were treated in an unfair manner when checking out; however this matter was dealt with swiftly and efficiently and not abruptly as you may describe.
We do hope that you choose to visit us again in the future.

The hotel & its rooms are very good and appear relatively new. Everything you need in the room and of good size. Location is good for getting around the area albeit basically just of the main road. The restaurant food was just ok and typical of a chain hotel. Breakfast buffet style a little chaotic and overcooked offerings left to stand a little. But generally of reasonable standard. Staff very good and friendly, and helpful. For the price was reasonable value. Drinks not cheap but good selection available of beers etc.

Thank you for leaving this review.
Yes - We are in a great location, people come from all over the country and world to stay with us! As we are a popular Inn, people do go for breakfasts and do enjoy them. Sorry you thought they were burnt - We do our best to make everything perfect! Did you mention any issues felt to a member off staff? We would far rather know so we can put things right at the time.
We do hope to see you again at our beautiful Hog's Head Inn!
