We had a two night break and found the Star Inn an ideal base for touring the Wolds. Suite 1 was roomy and very comfortable with a sofa and loads of cushions. We could hear a little background music from the pub area below but this stopped after the pub closed. The cooked breakfast was generous with plenty of choice. The evening menu also offered a good choice including curries and enormous pizzas and the food was nicely presented and good value. On Thursday there was a delay of 70 minutes from ordering our main course until it arrived but we received apologies and our drinks were on the house. There was no problem at all on the Wednesday night. Our hosts were very welcoming and eager that we enjoyed our stay. Highly recommended.

We had a lovely meal at The Star Inn recently. Only wanting something light we opted for the filo pastry parcel and scamp and chips. Very nice it was too. The place has a lovely welcoming ambience and the food is a nice change from pies and all the stodgy offerings of other pubs and restaurants locally. We would love to return some day.

We stayed for three nights in Suite 1 and it was cute, roomy and had very luxurious modern updates. The cooked English breakfasts were delicious. The food overall was really good. The hosts were friendly and professional. As an American, I found the village to be exactly what we think as an English country village. The accommodations at the Star Inn were so good they enhanced our trip.

We recently had to visit Scarborough area for 3 days with our daughter and dog so we booked into the star inn. The welcome we got was very friendly and all the staff could not have been more accommodating. Very flexible with our needs which includes a large and boisterous dog. The room was recently refurbished and was in the whole very comfortable. We used the comfortable sofa Bed which was fine for our 14 year old. The shower room was fine, but could be slightly improved. Water leaked into the main room when having a shower, a small issue but worth pointing out. We had the cooked breakfast everyday which was very good and w eat in the evening for two of the nights anD the food was excellent, highly recommend the home made pizzas. Love location just south of Scarborough. Highly recommend this as a nice B&B option.
