What a great idea for a christmas present. We were thinking of offering Puddle Duck Cottage vouchers so potential guests had the flexibility of when to stay. Thank you for the great comments and we're glad to hear you enjoyed your stay.

Fab location, everything you could need in the property. Location ideal for visiting bridlington, whitby and scarborough. Filey lovely and clean with a great beach. Would definitely recommend it and hope to return next year.

We have just arrived back from a few days at Puddle duck cottage and feeling absolutely relaxed!! Would recommend this cottage to anyone! Now where do i start.....

Lets start with the cottage! It was perfect for us, us which is my partner, Freddie who is 2 and myself. On arrival it was immaculate! Didn't last long with a two year old, but nothing much in there that could be damaged! The down stairs is opened planned, kitchen equipped with everything that could be needed, even those nice touches of having tea towels, sponges etc (Also toilet rolls in every toilet) already there without having to take them. Lovely big L shape sofa which we sprawled out on most nights, and also dining table. Outside which we used a lot of outside dining table and a place for a BBQ. Beautiful in the morning, but doesn't get the sun in the evening which it can be quite chilly after very warm days (Hottest day on record in 2014 for us!!) Nothing to complain about either upstairs, a twin bedroom, in which we did have to have a shuffle around to fit the travel cot in for Freddie, and a lovely king-size bed for us, with walk in wardrobe and tv! Bath is lovely and deep up there, spent many hours laid in the bath!! The only one problem we had was the hot water on the first day, boiler wasn't working properly which couldn't be helped but Ann was on this within minutes and sorted by the time we got home! Fantastic service!
The grounds round the bay are fantastic, had many walks around the wild flower meadows and duck pounds, which then ended up at the pub of course! The pub is lovely inside, had a bar meal there one night, which was very nice, must recommend from seeing my partners burger, this is a must!! There is the Italian next door which also does meals and takeaway pizza!
The beach down from the bay is amazing I must say! Like a little paradise! Must warn though it is a very steep walk down to this towards the end! Glad we took the pram!

Location wise for puddle duck is brilliant. We visited both Scarborough and Bridlington which didn't take us long, maybe just 20 minutes each way! Filey also not far, after a mad dash to Tesco for forgotten items!

Overall, i would 100% be back to puddle duck! Not one complaint! Recommend to anyone! Thankyou ladies!

“Clean, comfy, friendly site”
Reviewed 7 May 2014 for a stay in April 2014

Puddle Duck cottage on The Bay holiday site was very clean, modern, tidy and comfortable. It felt spacious (family of 4), had everything we needed and was as described on the web. A minor disappointment was that the house is located at the site entrance near the main road, and the road traffic noise is fairly constant. You can't hear the traffic at all inside the house, with the windows closed, so just a minor point.

The Bay is an intriguing place to stay, it is a holiday park but instead of the usual chalets and caravans the accommodation are brick houses. It felt a bit surreal but despite ourselves we quite liked it. There is a pub, cafe and pharmacy. We ate at the pub and were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food, the cafe served nice food but it was a bit smokey sitting in (smoke from kitchen). We went swimming once, the changing rooms were fine, the pool was OK size-wise but the water was very cold, even in the baby pool. The sauna and steam room were fine and helped us survive stints in the baby pool with the kids (who seemed oblivious to the cold).

Overall, the site felt quiet and rural with some lovely nature reserve areas, we found three ponds and a wild meadow and suspect there could be more to discover. The beach was also great, good sand for the kids stretching for miles. All in all we thought this was a nice place to stay and would consider coming back in the future.

“Stunning property in perfect location.”
Reviewed 3 May 2014 for a stay in May 2014

I booked a weekend break at Puddle Duck cottage for 4 adults. On arriving at the property we were not disappointed, excellently presented, the cottage is welcoming and an absolute delight to stay in. There was ample room for 4 adults to stay in comfort, everything in the property is in faultless condition and the extra little touches make all the difference. Tea/coffee/sugar all provided, games to entertain the young (and not so young) and decorated in such a way you really do feel at home.
This property is ideally located for travelling to the various different places in the area with ease.
The site which the property is located on is great, a pub within walking distance that serves a fab Sunday lunch, swimming pool and perfectly placed for a stroll along the beach.
All in all we had a brilliant time at Puddle Duck cottage and cannot wait to book a return visit.
