Took both our boys,7 and 13 here for the Easter activity day and what a fantastic day it was!! Not been here before it doesn’t look that much from the outside but looks are very much deceiving....The exhibits on display are fascinating and by large relate to the area of Scunthorpes’working history. The lady in charge of the learning zone where the children participate in the activities on offer was extremely friendly and helpful and the fun offered was free which was a brucey bonus although we did make a donation on the way out!:) a good day was had by all of us and we will visit again!:)

Thank Chelle H

Lovely museum. Lots of local info and great exhibits from 60,s and 80,s. Very very child friendly. They are encouraged to touch. And it's free!

I like to pop in a few times a year. The Roman floor, skeleton and the long boat never loose their appeal.
There are permanent exhibits, local artifacts and room set ups. The world war two shelter is wonderful and the rooms through the decades are fabulous. Children's activities are always being held, there's a cafe, informative staff and a mine of information. The information about the steel works is interesting.
Things that you may not know about the local area are on offer, the local POW camps, the crisp factory history and archaeology of Scunthorpe and the surrounding area.
You will be impressed. Go and visit.

It’s many years since I visited the Museum and how it has changed.I was pleasantly surprised by all the exhibits and spent a morning viewing them.If you haven’t been in a while treat yourself, it’s worth it.

This is an excellent local museum, it is kept very clean & tidy. Very nice cafe serves great coffee and cake. The exhibis are very interesting and tell us so much about our local history. Strongly recommend a visit. And it's FREE!
