Had been for breakfast at the prairie a few times and it was very good experience everytime so decided to treat my wife on saturday, what a complete disaster from start to finish.
The full breakfast was ordered x2 with drinks included 2coffees had drunk them before the food arrived but the place was not busy and when the food arrived instantly my heart sank beans thrown all over the plate covering the one sausage one bacon one mushroom one hash brown and egg and tin of beans, every time before had 2 sausages 2 bacon 2 hash browns and plenty of delicious mushrooms and black pudding. Was not happy but could not complain as the one waitress just disappeared and none of the staff on previous visits were not there, won't ever go back I was so annoyed and angry, must have had a 5year old as chef that day.

The food here is pretty basic but ideal for a budget meal. Kids can go here to as it does cater for them.

My husband and I visited the Prairie Sports Village bistro today (Wednesday 21st September) with my friend who was staying with us for a few days. We had already been on the driving range and decided to have lunch there too.

We were impressed by the bistro area, it's light & airy, very spacious, clean & tidy. Easy to order, great menu options for lunch, including good selection of drinks, with polite & helpful serving staff. Prices seem reasonable too.

Our party chose Lancashire cheese & caramelised red onion panini, tuna mayo jacket potato, sweet potato fries side order, build-a-burger and soft drinks. One downside is that the menu covers both the Prairie bistro & the bistro in the Mechanics Theatre in the town centre, so some items aren't available in both venues (as we found out with one of our drink choices) - it would be helpful of these were indicated in some way on the menu. Our food was delicious, especially nice was that the side salad was without dressing (without us specifying). The sweet potato fries were excellent.
Readers may be interested to know that there is a dessert menu on the counter, but it isn't (to my knowledge) on the printed menus.
It's a nice venue to go to for tea & cake or for lunch. Really nice place. We'll definitely visit again.

Some £4 per pint is in my opinion excessive - in addition £8 for a pie and a pint was also excessive. We tried to purchase breakfast here but the 8.30am start for such advertised is apparently only at weekends - confusing ! Nice clean place but too dear for what you get .... in Burnley.
