My husband and I visited the Prairie Sports Village bistro today (Wednesday 21st September) with my friend who was staying with us for a few days. We had already been on the driving range and decided to have lunch there too.
We were impressed by the bistro area, it's light & airy, very spacious, clean & tidy. Easy to order, great menu options for lunch, including good selection of drinks, with polite & helpful serving staff. Prices seem reasonable too.
Our party chose Lancashire cheese & caramelised red onion panini, tuna mayo jacket potato, sweet potato fries side order, build-a-burger and soft drinks. One downside is that the menu covers both the Prairie bistro & the bistro in the Mechanics Theatre in the town centre, so some items aren't available in both venues (as we found out with one of our drink choices) - it would be helpful of these were indicated in some way on the menu. Our food was delicious, especially nice was that the side salad was without dressing (without us specifying). The sweet potato fries were excellent.
Readers may be interested to know that there is a dessert menu on the counter, but it isn't (to my knowledge) on the printed menus.
It's a nice venue to go to for tea & cake or for lunch. Really nice place. We'll definitely visit again.
