The food was a variety of fairly simple but tasty home cooked food There were plenty of vegetables to accompany the meat dishes and the deserts were very good

We went on spec and managed to get a table for two. The atmosphere, staff, food and drink were all amazing. We sat outside having coffee after our meal, watching the world go by. Perfect evening

We were lucky to get a table for a Saturday lunch. The menu was not long but this meant the food was all excellent quality. The specials menu was very good value with some lovely seafood options. The lobster bisque soup, seafood in brioche, lobster, sea bass and chicken were delicious. Desserts were fantastic too. The staff could not have been more helpful - very friendly.

We stumbled across Birdies and had a great lunch there. It is a small and very popular restaurant located at the start of town just off the sea front. The staff just turn you away if they are full so we were lucky! The sharing seafood platter, at our request, came de-shelled so it was much more enjoyable than had that option not have been there. The bread and olives worked well but the olives were pickled which was odd. Offer proper olives and there would be no complaint! We sat outside but there is only seating for two couples then inside there is a small number of seating. The menu is on a board. Simple but effective and the service was excellent.

Birdies was recommended by friends - we're glad we found this gem.

It's a cosy restaurant on the high street - best to book as it's busy. Others have complained about the chalkboard menu - but shows they change the menu to match the seasons. We stayed all evening, starter, main, wine, dessert and the best cappuccino we've experienced in a long time.

The food was tasty and served hot, the staff were all fun and nice to interact with. One of the better restaurants in town - so you should expect to pay a little more than others - we thought it was excellent value.

Keep up the good work Birdies - highly recommended.
